Apple iPOD, already a new one?

i am thinking of getting the iPod video, I would hate to get it and then 2 months later a new one comes out. What do you think?

Apple is going to keep striking while the iron is hot. They will keep pumping out a new, slightly updated model every few months as long as they are selling. Granted some of the new features are very nice, they could easily have held the original video model an extra month or two and added this new feature. They will keep pouring money into adding one new feature at a time until sales start declining and then eventually level off. I don't blame Apple, and their products are very quality, but it sucks for people obsessed with the latest thing, at $300 a piece not many can afford to keep up with Apple. Not that anyboyd needs to, but they create instant remorse for people who bought last week's model and see a newer, "better" model out the next week.

ill wait for the 20gb 4inch video ipod by next christmas. i should have enough money for one.

DO they make black ipods or have faceplates? i dont like the white look.

The new one sounds really nice though, it just needs to have a bigger hard drive.

This sounds ghey; I would't want my greasy thumbprint to show up all over the display. Unless they figured out a way to get around that problem, this thing could be a clunker IMO.

Of course, Apple is generally smart enough to see these things in advance. If they could implement the functionality of the navigation through a shielded display, that would rule the school. This likely wouldn't be the actual interface, but it gives a hint towards what kind of ideas Apple might be thinking about in terms of triggering navigational activity on the actual screen..

As a Mac user and a somewhat frequent visitor of those mac rumor sites, I can tell you that the majority of the time, these rumors are wrong, unless they come around the time of a Mac expo/conference. I've seen some that are right, and some that are WAY off, not even close enough to be considered off, actually. For example, more than a year ago numerous reports came out that there was going to be an imminent release of "iPod XM" with XM satellite radio. While that still might happen someday, that report certainly was off.

In other words, don't put too much stock in it.......if you just got an ipod, be happy with it, and if you wanna buy a new one, but it now if you like the one they have out

They are the most accurate one, but still, I usually don't believe it till I see it.

But my point is, if you want to buy an ipod now, don't worry too much about this report.....it may or may not be true. i wouldn't let it guide my purchase
