Re: Murs and 9th Wonder "Murray's Revenge"

I picked it up yesterday on my way to a friend's house. Great album. I had never listened to any of 9th Wonder's stuff and I'm pleased greatly. Favorites so far are DSWG, Love & Appreciate and Murray's Revenge. My first Murs album and I'll be sure to check out 3:16 since it is apparently his best album.

same here , but like i stated earlier - 9th wonder disapoints me greatly . if murs had some better beats this couldve almost been a classic.
And with the third pick - I made the earth sick

Nah these beats are still really good in my opinion. I don't know what else you want from 9th. Most of his beats sound similar, yes, but every producer has a formula for their sound. You can usually pick out and say "thats a _____ beat". I like it when a producer does a whole album anyways.

The beats are really good, I don't know what you're talking about.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I like the beats a lot, but I like Murs on Ant's beats a little better than 9th Wonder.

I'ma fan of this cd... It's just funny... I sit in my car drivin, bumpin this album... and 1/2 hour later, its done. 1/2 HOUR!!!! That's too short. I don't like the length of the cd at all... but I guess Quality is better than Quantity.

negative . the beats arent good/arent bad. just not impressive . check out rapreviews, alot of publications are saying the same thing - not that it matters . ive thought this for awhile now , since before reviews came out. these beats are boring and uninspiring . 9th is getting extremely repetitive- its like these beats are missing his usual soul.

3:16 production is so much better than this album -beatwise , lyricswise - it seems like murs was more introspective on that joint . this is by far 9ths weakest work imo. i still bought the album and im listening to it -but i dont think its as great as you guy think it is .his lyrics are on point and hes still one of my favorite rappers - im not feeling those beats at all though.

that also - the album is to short , leaves you wanting more... it actually clocks in at 33 minutes. most great albums are much longer....

illmatic had a few songs that were 5+ minutes and most were over 4 minutes. Didn't feel short at all as opposed to this joint.

im quite sure illmatic clocked in at 39 minutes - and this is no illmatic - but its not really a fair comparison.

good album. 1st one was better. I think 9th wonder did some work on track 10. flippin that bob james sample like that...genius. I have heard it used before, but he layed it down. he been around for a while but lots of folks still aint knowin. Its 9th Wonder y'all. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I thought the last track sounded weird.
