    Re: Boondock Saints

I'm pretty hard on movies and my buddy made me watch it about 2 or 3 years ago... I thought I wouldn't like it because he's not a big movie guy and I didn't know what kind of movies he liked.

He fell asleep part way through and I finished watching it.

It still stands along with Donnie Darko and a few others as one of my favorite movies of all time.

I am not going to go in depth or anything like that because there is so much that is great about this film, I would take paragraphs to put it all up.

      Great GD movie!!!

Watched this movie last night. I wanted to like it but I just thought it was an OK movie. I thought it could have been a lot better.

I've got a couple close friends who think it is Citizen Kane. I will never understand the fascination that most college aged males, excluding myself, find with this movie. But I guess that's how it goes with cult films.

I personally loved the movie. I hadn't seen it until I went out and bought the collectors edition. I haven't gotten around to watching any of the extras yet, but the movie itself was awesome IMO.

was hoping to love the movie... still haven't been able to finish it yet... for whatever reason just can't hold my attention.... It's a huge cult classic with college kids and that's how I heard of it, but I just can't get into it... Hopefully someday I can actually finish it and form an opinion on it.

Just something...the last 5-10 minutes of the movie are by far my favorite part.

A friend of mine recommended it to me. I had a chance to watch it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.

I'm a college kid, right in the target audience. I have friends who like this film as well, to an unnatural degree. Count me among those who hate it. Despise it. A half-baked, fourth-rate Scorsese/Tarantino hybrid. I also happen to think it's hilarious, but not in the way it wants to be and thinks it is. I laugh out loud whenever this thing goes into a slo-mo shot, and the "baptism" is beyond laughable. Terrible, abysmal direction and editing caps the whole thing off, like a bonus turd on top of a vomit pile.

Some decent movies have a scene that prevents them from being a good movie.

Willem Dafoe dressing up as a woman and seducing a heterosexual male is one of these scenes.

Horrible flick... don't really know how else to describe it. Grabbed it on the cheap because I had heard so many glowing reviews but just don't see it.
Bad acting, bad writing... but I guess opinions are like arseholes.

I watched this movie last night and man was it great! Definately one of my favourite movies now.
I just loved how 'quirky' so many of the characters were.
I was very impartial to the actor Willem Dafoe but after seeing him in this movie it's made me a fan of his for life.

I wouldn't call it horrible, but it is vastly overrated IMO. I saw it right when it was released and thought it was okay. Then all the Columbine story and all that crap was told to me and I immediately thought, "Yep, this will become another overrated cult classic because it wasn't directly released as planned."
