I kinda want to know where he was too.

You kind of miss out on the whole story since he wasn't "there".

    Although his family almost died.

His family didn't seem to want to live through him so they could get all his money and buy cars and houses. They seemed like they genuinely wanted him to succeed. His one brother was an assitant on his high school team helping other kids and at the end with his brother should it was a love for his family and the game. And his other brother continued his own dream. I wish we would have seen more from his mom and dad but it seems like they he has some very positive influences in his life and was brought up the right way.

I'm going to pick it up on DVD tomorrow.

The people at the beginning of this thread got all riled up because it was about Telfair. I don't really think it was exactly about the person, but the events and circumstances surrounding that person who is going through those things.

But that's the feeling I got from the previews and such...I could be completely off base.
The DVD comes out Tuesday not tomorrow.

It was a pretty damn good documentary, as far as documentaries go.

The end almost got me teared up, when Seabass's little brother held on to him crying after he got drafted. They did a good job of showing all of his hard work and reaching that climax of the draft.

I'd suggest this to anybody that likes HS hoops or has played basketball at a competitive level before. Shows how much dedication you need to make it big.

I agree, it was very well done. It certainly makes me want to see him play...except to do that I'd have to watch the Blazers.....no thanks

Apparently his parents didnt want to be videotaped that much, becuase they are still hurting inside when his older brother Jamal didnt get drafted. At least thats what I heard in the beginning of the movie.

As for the movie itself, I thought it was pretty good. Its funny how so many people are quick to judge someone/thing just because of the title. Yeah you might think Telfair is a bust, but at least hes in the league, making probably more money than you. Stop hating on the cat because hes not getting any playing time. Its simply because he is young, and just learning the ropes. Look at all the previous high schoolers-to-pro players (kobe, kg, harrington, o'neal) they all started the same way he did, and look at what they've achieve.

I missed the part though where he decided to declare for the draft. Was it because of the shooting in his building that changed his decision? I figured after the shooting he really wanted to get his family out of there, and to a much safer neighborhood.

how can anyone call him a bust yet? he played under 20 minutes last season and still put up 7 and 3. right now he's at 24 minutes putting up 9 and 4. not to mention this guy plays for one of the most disfunctional organizations in pro sports. calling him a bust is pretty unfair.

I wouldnt say he is a bust yet but he has no jumper and that was evidant in high school, and apparently he has yet to develop one either. In high school he had his way and got to the rim rather easily, but in the pros he can get to the rim still but cant finish around the taller defender with any type of regularity, but if he can develop a jumper then he will be well on his way to being a solid player in the NBA.

He used to kill when he was at PC, I have no idea why he didn't get drafted. Prolly cause he played no D.

I had no idea he was brothers w. Telfair until last night.

Because people were calling him a bust. But financially, how can he be a bust if hes making more money than you. get it? good.

being a bust has nothing to do with how much money you make. He is a bust because of all the hype he was given with nothing to show for it up until now.
