It's hard to believe an entire year has passed since our inagural tournament. Our first tourny was a smashing success as we had over 200 OS'ers vote on the championship. This year looks to be even more hotly contested. We have a new field with lots of new faces. Some old favorites are back as well. You'll see that some ladies have gained some respect while others might be slipping in stature a little bit.
For those of you that did not participate in last year's tournament or those that would just like to reminisce you can check out last years tounament right HERE.
This years field has a lot of changes. Firstly our defending champion is back again as a #1 seed again. However, she has slipped to the 4th #1 seed overall. This years overall #1 seed is none other than Jessica Alba. Alba didn't even make the field last year, but this year she's the one to beat. Also of note, our runner up last year the sleeper 8 seed Elisha Cuthbert is still poised to pounce lurking as 6 seed. We all know how tough she can be as she beat two #1's last year and almost beat a third to win the whole thing.
Without further ado. I proudly announce the field for this years tournament. You can find it HERE.
2006 OS Babe Showdown FAQ
Q: When will the tournament begin?
A: The first matchup will take place Monday February 27th. This will allow those that want to submit a bracket predicting the outcome of the bracket to do so if they choose.
Q: What is up with the seeding? No way _______ should be a ____ seed!!!
A: Firstly the seeding is not decided upon by me! Secondly the seeding is decided the same way as last year by using askmen.com and their top 99 desireable women.
Q: Why did you use askmen.com?
A: Cuz.....well their list is compiled from reader votes and writers. It's a nice mix that comes to a consensus. Although I may not agree with the list, it does a good job. Want proof? Last year amongst many complaints/questions about seeding we saw 3 of the 4 #1 seeds make it to the final four. That's better than most years in the NCAA tournament. If you're unhappy about someone being seeded too high, vote against them. If you're unhappy about someone being seeded too low, vote for them. Remember we did have an 8 seed in the final last year that almost won.
Q: How long will voting last per matchup?
A: 24 hours. The entire tournament will last about two months. And NO I'm not going to do more than one game a day. Just enjoy the process.
Q: Couldn't you have posted better pictures of _________?
A: I submit a few pics of the daily contestents as a public service (you're welcome). If you don't like the pictures/think they're too old/or can find what you feel are better pictures, PLEASE POST THEM IN THE THREAD. I don't have all day to hunt down pictures. I throw up a few and everyone else can take it from there. Please add what you think are better pictures of that days contestants. But remember *NO NUDITY*
Q: Where can I get updated brackets?
A: Just click on the bottom of my signature where is says, "The 2006 OS Babe Showdown is here! CLICK ME" You will be taken to the current bracket.
Q: Can I try to persuade other voters to vote for a particular contestant?
A: ABSOLUTELY! The whole goal is for this to be fun, you can argue, harass, mock, discuss the contestents in question that day all you like.
Well that should do it. Have fun. Next Monday I will be posting the first 'game'. Remember to vote! Let the games begin!
