Re: Awww this almost made me tear up...
That was a nice story. 20pts in 4 minutes is production. Kobe or T-mac would have been proud.
I saw a similar story on a network show like Primetime. Kid was the team's manager for 3-4 years then finally gets in the game. In this one, he didn't score in the first game. But scored in his next 2-3 games.Comment

Re: Awww this almost made me tear up...
Geez, this sounded awful like the story of my life. But I did'nt have autism. Coach benched me in baseball for the entire season and decided to put me in last game. I went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 3 steals and 6 RBIs.
Anyway, I saw the highlights. I loved when they put the kid on their shoulders and everybody went wild. That was nuts. I'm waiting for the movie now.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Awww this almost made me tear up...
dude that is so awesome... that happened to me to a lesser extent this year... for those of you who don't know i play on my high school basketball team but i was the kid that never played and only went in during blowouts... well come senior night i hadn't scored the entire season and i went in with a minute left and we were up fifteen. there were like 2500 people there and i got a breakaway and got an and one layup over one of the other players and if you can imagine it the entire crowd went crazy like one of those kid's threes. granted i only made one bucket it was still pretty sweet. everyone said it was the loudest they'd ever heard the crowd get.Go Heels!

I attend Greece Athena (where this happend) and I happen to know J-MAc. Its weird now with him being a celebrity and all. But i do not think I will ever forget what i witnessed in that gym. We Are 6th Man. (All the Yellow created shirts. and the custom signs for his face.)Comment

I was injured my senior year (I was set to start, but I herniated a disc in my back), so whenever I got to play it was special to me. It wasn't to the point where the crowd went nuts when I scored, but just being in the game meant a lot.
Right now I'd do almost anything to play my senior season of HS basketball again minus the injury. It was so much fun, and there's no sports experience really like it afterwards (unless you go on to play in college.)
There's always that "what-if" I'm gonna have the rest of my life.
I'm glad Jason got to play, that's really a great story.Comment

i mean it is kind of sad in a way that me scoring just once makes the crowd go nuts, but it's also really cool to know that that many people actually cared and felt good for me.Go Heels!

That sounds nice. I wished my old HS actually cared about baseball. Plenty of times we played games without a single spectator present.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
