    Walk The Line DVD

    The DVD is out today.

I'm not a big Johnny Cash fan but I've heard nothing but great things about this movie. And of course Reese Witherspoon is in it so it has my attention.

I just checked the price of the 2 Disc Collectors Edition and it's $31.99 at FS. I'll pass on it and grab the single disk version this afternoon.

The single-disc will include a director audio commentary, ten deleted scenes, and some trailers. The two-disc special edition will include all of that, along with three extended music videos, a Passion of MIB featurette and a Walk The Line Comeback featurette.

I really like the cover for the 2 Disk edition.

I picked the rental up on my way home from work today. I saw it in the theaters over Thanksgiving, it was real good. I'm not a fan of the music, but it was very good in the movie and I enjoyed it in that context. Even more knowing that Phoenix and Witherspoon were doing the singing. I also thought it was neat how Waylon Jennings's kid is playing him in the movie. Definitely not a feel good movie, so be in the mood to watch that type of movie first. It's sad and heart-wrenching, but at the same time inspirational.

Plus, it was filmed in Memphis, so you know it's fecking good. You should buy it and share it with your friends.

I'm a big Cash fan, so I picked it up today. Definitely need to get around to watching it soon, likely this weekend. I still wish I would've caught it in theaters, but I never found the time.

Loved the movie when I saw it at the cinema. Reese did a wonderful job, as did Phoenix. I also thought it was pretty cool how they had Shooter play Waylon - nice touch.

Anyway, I just had a thought about the soundtrack. I thought Reese and Phoenix did wonderful jobs on the singing and instruments, but I think the soundtrack would have been better (and more of "thank you" to Cash) if it had been the original songs, rather than Phoenix and Reese. Just a thought.

I think it worked out nicely with Phoenix doing the soundtrack. I think it would have been a bit redundant with the release of the "The Legend of Johnny Cash" album. I think the soundtrack and this one go along nicely.

FYI: The employee rentals that we got all had a little glitch about half way through the movie. You just had to skip to the next chapter to continue watching. We don't know if it is all of our copies (300 of them) or just the 12 for employees.

Similar to Ray in how the movie isn't anything special, but the music and performances are incredible. I could not look away during any of the musical scenes.

Also remember that Joaquin and Reese did the actual singing in the movie. They had a voice coach for about 2 months before they started taping.

Great movie. The musical performances and acting were top notch.

I didn't know Tyler Hilton was in the movie.

I haven't watched the deleted scenes or directors commentary yet. I wish they had Witherspoon and Phoenix do a commentary track together.
