Dave shouldn't be saying anything. He signed a nice big contract with CC and everyone is waiting to see new episodes. If there are episodes that is supposed to be apart of season 3 then CC needs to air it. If Dave doesn't want them to air then he should be making new ones asap and stop keeping everyone waiting on him.

Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
The chappelle show was the highest rated show in comedy centrals brief history with a 7 share. The daily show barely gets a 2 share and south park has a very niche audience. Comedy Central has compensated Dave for those shows, but not to the tune of 50 mil, they've already recouped those finances. Dave Pulled out of the deal because of the DVD sales, no one ever envisioned the amount of sales that were being generated. Dave wanted in on the DVD sales and comedy central was not trying to hear it, so he walked on them.Comment

you know the material will be lacking if it doesnt have the backing of the main artist, dave. i think its a bad move... just another chance to earn money off of him real quickly.Comment

He signed a contract, thats his fault if he did not have the foresight that the DVDs would do so well.... Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
LOL, this is Dave Chappelle's contract we're talking about, not T.O.'s. Nobody could've predicted or foresaw the huge success of the show on-air or on DVD. I don't blame Chappelle for wanting royalties off of the DVDs--hey, he co-writes and directs it, which is more than what I can say for many other comedians.
That being said, since he did have direct involvement in those finished, un-aired episodes, then he should have as much say so as CC execs.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

I dont think so. South Park was already "that" show for CC before Chappelle came along. He made them bigger in a way but CC was already pretty popular.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
I think Chappelle signed this contract either after the 1st or 2nd season. CC isn't just going to throw 50 mil around for an unproven show.Originally posted by SLAYERLOL, this is Dave Chappelle's contract we're talking about, not T.O.'s. Ratings, right now, mean absolutely nothing. The statement used was that Chappelle made Comedy Central what it is today.Originally posted by rockchislerActually I read somewhere that the top 3 shows were south park, Chapelle show then Daily show when dave was still on ai...
Wrong.
The Daily Show and South Park made Comedy Central what it is today and then Chappelle came along and blew up. Before Chappelle's Show, not many people knew who Dave Chappelle was. However, Comedy Central had a strong fan base because of The Daily Show and South Park, and got bigger with Chappelle's success.Comment

Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
Who cares about Chappelle? He's extremely overrated and not even very funny to me. Comedy Central would be better off paying a REAL stand up comedian to do a weekly routine.
I don't watch the Chappelle show unless I'm channel surfing. He didn't do much for CC in my opinion. They have much better shows.Comment

How is he not a real stand up comedian?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

He's only been doing since he was fourteen. You have to start when you're three to be a REAL stand-up comedian.Originally posted by jmood88Anyway.

He's good, and has a funny show. I hope he and the network can get this all worked out and get it on air.
I think they should let him complete the season and play all the shows together, but the network can do what they want.
Dave shouldn't have just left like that.Comment

Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
Chappelle's shows ratings killed South Park and the Daily Show. I love all three shows but it isnt even close. Also, Chappelle's DVD sales are huge compared to South Park's.Originally posted by BigRedTwo shows absolutely dwarf Chappelle: The Daily Show and South Park

Re: Chappelle's Getting MORE Irritating
Thats not true. He's first contract did not have DVD revenues included. The 50 million dollar contract gave him a percentage of the 1st, half of the second and half of any new seasons revenue. He walked out on the 50 million contract because he couldnt handle his new level of fame, wasnt happy with CC attempting to change the show and their involvement in the show.Originally posted by backbreakerThe chappelle show was the highest rated show in comedy centrals brief history with a 7 share.
