    Creative Zen Vision:M

    Hi,

I was thinking about purchasing an MP3 player/portable video player. I stumbled across the Creative Zen Vision:M as a supposedly nice alternative to the IPOD video. Just wondering if any one owns this and what their opinion is of it.

Stupid question: Sorry im a moron but how exactly do you get dvd's to play on these things? Is it like you put a dvd in a computer and then transfer it into the MP3 player? Again sorry if its a stupid question, im not very bright.

    Thanks for all the assistance.

essentially you burn a dvd or rip the dvd to your computer.. Flaskmpeg is one where you can burn an entire dvd onto your computer into mpeg format. from there you can either convert to avi or another supported format. Cool thing about these programs, you can set a size limitation. most dvd movies look surprisingly good at 700mb limit.

but its not as easy as, put DVD into your computers dvd drive and then just drag the files.. those files have to be first read and made into a readible video file. after that though, its as easy as dragging and dropping the file.

For ipods, its the same process. Ipods take a mp4 format, so once youre done converting the dvd to a movie file, youd need to convert to a ipod readible file...

Creative zen is good about the use of various file formats, so that last step isnt needed.
