Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
I don't have much slowdown at all and I don't know what you're talking about with the flaws. There were a couple of viruses that targeted firefox but it didn't affect me so I'm fine. And with firefox you are able to customize it to make it pretty much however you would like it.Originally posted by FootballForeverI don't like FF one bit, I know a lot of you guys use it, but I used many times before and I don't like it at all, in time it always seems to run slow for no reason, I never have this problem with IE. Plus I woulnd't bank being so safe with FF, there are flaws in FF too.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

No doubt, FF is a good browser, but like I said I never had any issues with IE ever, I also used FF for a awhile, and just because you like FF, just don't think there are flaws, because there flaws with everything on the NET, nobody is 100% no matter what.Originally posted by jmood88I don't have much slowdown at all and I don't know what you're talking about with the flaws. Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
Opera is easily the fastest web browser around. You could be on a 56K modem and a page will still load up in a couple of seconds. On my T1, it's unbelievable.
It also opens a lot of sites that IE does.
The security is incredible.
The popup blocking has not missed anything, AT ALL. I've not had 1 popup in
4 months while using it.
I do miss the plugins with FF. But Opera is just as effective and doesn't use many resources.Comment

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
It's been so long since I've used IE. Does anyone remember how to get your Favorites into the order YOU want them in, not Alphabetical order? Also, does anyone know how to get the Menu (File, Edit, View, etc) above the address window bar? It's pretty slick, thanks to the OPComment

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
I thought I was the only one getting major slowdown on firefox. I've tried just about everything to get rid of it but nothing has worked. So it looks like i'll go back to IE for the first time sine 2001
. Hopefully this beta version doesn't have too many security issues yet.

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
Never had any slowdown or problems with FF. It took a little at first for me to get used to FF, but I doubt I'll go back to IE. Plus, you can go configure so many things in FF (type about:config in the URL). You can even make it faster with the correct settings..Originally posted by FootballForeverI don't like FF one bit, I know a lot of you guys use it, but I used many times before and I don't like it at all, in time it always seems to run slow for no reason, I never have this problem with IE. FF should appear faster because it renders pages differently. FF loads the text on a page first and then images. IE waits until the entire page is in memory and then displays it.
Naturally every piece of software will have security issues. Every single one that's on your PC. However, IE is much more suceptible to a lot of issues than FF is. Just having ActiveX enabled is asking to be hacked or infested with spyware/trojans etc... (many you won't ever know about).
One thing about FF is that if you have it open all the time, it WILL grow very large (the firefox.exe) and slow down your system. You need to close it occassionally if you surf the web all day.Comment

Re: Internet Explorer 7 Beta now available...
I think this could of been my problem. I keep it open alot and just last week FF slowed down significantly. Is there any way to reverse this? I tried reinstalling but that didnt work.Originally posted by joebooOne thing about FF is that if you have it open all the time, it WILL grow very large (the firefox.exe) and slow down your system. JB....are there any specific tweaks that I can put into the "about:config" that will show noticiable improvement in FF? And if so, are there any drawbacks to the tweaks?Comment

I've made these changes. I made a few others, but I can't find a link right now and don't recall what they were.
I'll check around more tomorrow.
