    Netflix?

    How is Netflix?

I just signed up today for the $14.99 rent 2 movies out a time deal. I figured that this was a better for me than renting from Hollywood Video since we have late fees all the time and I need to cutdown on buying movies every month. It sucks my local Blockbuster and Hollywood charge about $4 a movie, so this is worth doing.

    Any positives or negatives?

Only problem you get to is when you get in a movie that you really arent in the mood to see. At different times Id end up having a movie that in the grand scheme of things I eventually want to see, but not now and thus would have the movie out for nearly a month and still maybe not even watch it.

That was my only issue... thats why I imagine Blockbuster's deal would be better because you can still go in and rent 2 movies per month free.

IVE Had it for like 2 years already and its great . never had a problem . i have the 5 out at a time monthly program. its like 30 bucks a month. i cancelled it for two months and switched to blockbuster online but that was wack . all the movies i wanted were never in and had long wait times. you also get new releases on the day they come out(they ship them out on monday before they release) . i love netflix.

I have Blockbuster 3 at a time for $18, plus they give you 2 coupons per month for an additional free movie OR game rental.

that's what I got and really like it. Mine is $15.99 for 3 at a time though. I signed up a year or so ago I guess.

Netflix would get me the movie the next day which was cool because Blockbuster takes 2 days to receive the movie. But Blockbuster receives my movie back a good 2 days before Netflix would, so I think I work out better with Blockbuster. I haven't had many problems with availability of movies with Blockbuster or Netflix. Every now and then I would have to wait a few days for a certain title, but nothing major. That happened with both companies.

                      Re: Netflix?

Blockbuster over Netflix IMO because I heard that Netflix penalizes people who go through alot of movies. I have been getting 12 movies a month (3 a week) from Blockbuster now for about 6 or 8 months and never any slowdown or anything. I get my movies on Thursday or Friday, watch on Saturday/Sunday, send back Monday morning and rinse and repeat. Works out great. Plus I get 2 free rentals of games or movies a month which I always use at my local Blockbuster.

So basically 14 movies a month for $14.99 from Blockbuster is just a little over $1 a movie, you can't beat that!!

They got a lawsuit about it I read about a month ago, I guess people who rent alot of movies get put on a "2nd tier" type thing where they get last dibs on the movies so their movies go out slower and they are less apt to get new releases.

Evidently Netflix has some kind of magic number that when a customer starts reaching that many of rentals a month, they slow their receive and ship times down so that it doesn't cut into their profits. If you notice, this is the theme of Blockbuster's new ads. They say they won't throttle you.

Been with NetFlix over a year and they don't limit me. Usually 6 movies a week on a 2 at a time plan.
