If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

 Re: fans of underground rap?

I still think people RIDE 9th like no other, he's a great producer but he's not as great as his dick riders think he is. I mean, "Get Back" only had one 9th track (which was a good one) but LB still put it down and had one of the best albums of 2007. They proved they didn't need 9th on the boards to sound hot.Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.Comment

 Re: fans of underground rap?

why would that make 9th any better or worse at beat-making? I never said his executive producing was great. All of that album flavor is from the minds of Phonte and long-time manager Big Dho. That's why, as good as Dream Merchant 2 was, Get Back was just a better album overall, because the genius that is Phonte shows (like it did on Minstrel Show), and 9th is not as good as he is in that department.I still think people RIDE 9th like no other, he's a great producer but he's not as great as his dick riders think he is. 9th is just good . best producer all time - i dont even think hes top 10 . i dont think he believes that . sometimes he can be boring .I still think people RIDE 9th like no other, he's a great producer but he's not as great as his dick riders think he is. Re: fans of underground rap?

well you can't compare him to Dre because their production sound and approach is entirely different. He's more like Rock and RZA although Rock has changed his production style up to be more like 9th lately (elders learning from the kids). I already know Kuruption has a strong distaste for 9th but comes up with no other explanation than "he can be boring". Alright SAN ANTONIO SPURS SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

 Re: fans of underground rap?

It's all still very opinionated too and I wish you all would just accept that for what it is...

In my OWN opinion, 9th is easily the best...

 my itunes playlist:

Total Songs: 1,172 (all songs that I like)

 9th Wonder: 163
 Khrysis: 52
 Black Milk: 27
 Pete Rock: 25
 Illmind: 22
 Lord Jamar: 16
 J Dilla: 15
 Analogic: 9
Dr. Dre: None (I don't like his producing)

I have more producers but those are the ones I felt like listing.Last edited by X*Cell; 01-10-2008, 05:22 PM.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

 Re: fans of underground rap?

I wasn't comparing him to Dre, just saying his dick riders seem to think he's the next big thing in Hip hop. Wither you like dre's production or not, you can't say he isn't the most influential producer in hip hop history.

To say 9th is "easily" the best is a pretty bold statement. Best in terms of what exactly? His production (imo) is stale, I know what I'm getting with a 9th track. I've never sat there listening to him and saying "WOW, this is a 9th track?" For me, he needs to be more versatile, but I'll hold judgment until I hear his new work.

And yeah, I get it..it's a VERY opinionated topic, but when you say someone is CLEARLY better the rest, of course you're going to come off as a dick rider. (I'm not saying you are, I actually know you're a knowledgeable/intelligent cat)Last edited by Nivek; 01-10-2008, 05:13 PM.Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.Comment
