 Re: fans of underground rap?

 Artist: eMC
 Album: The Show
Producers: Ayatollah; DJ Premier; Marco Polo; Koolade; Frequency; Quincy Tones; The R
 Release Date: March 2008

I can't believe no one is talking about this album in here. What I thought was going to be mediocre month of music in January, "The Show" set for release in March was leaked on January 24th. And this boiii... is a classic, and nothing less. I didn't think Masta Ace could top his work on "Long Hot Summer" but teaming up with Wordsworth, Strickland, and Punchline has to go down as one of the best decisions ever made. All emcees bring their A-game to the table and Punch and Strick hardly seem like rookies.

There isn't a marquee track to play repeatedly over and over with no hesitation, but there are several more-than-solid songs on this joint. You will actually still be repeating songs but in packs. The album front to back is stellar, which reminds me that I haven't seen this kind of accuracy since October 2005's "Smoke and Mirrors" album by O.C.. The skits make total sense riding along each song which reveals the already known fact that Masta Ace has mastered the concept of 'Concept Albums', and the art of story-telling, however, so have his group members.

"Who We Be", "Grudge", "Say Now", and "Make it Better" are some of my faves for now, but it hasn't stopped me from listening to the whole album at all. I've had this album for 5 days now and it's track-listing has racked up 148 plays already. I gave this album my first 'F.O.U.R.' Classic rating ever. I can't stop going to "The Show", and I KNOW all of you will agree if you get the chance to listen. I'm so into this album that I am going to buy it for sure to support eMC. Artists like this should never retire.
 - Grade: - 101% (CLASSIC)

- Song to Download: - "Say Now"

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
