Help with a NOOB burning DVD's

I just picked up a new HP Windows XP Media Center PC and am trying to burn a DVD. Having never done this before, I'm clueless.

What I'm trying to do is burn a file that has the menu and video of the DVD (it's a self-made calibration DVD) and also burn the label, which is provided in another folder.

The only software I have is "Sonic MyDVD Plus" and when I put in a blank DVD Windows Media and Real Player also pop up.

If someone could PLEASE give me some assistance, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

I have Sonic on my laptop. It sucks. Go with Nero or DVD 1-click.
