Looks like a good movie, I will be seeing it and it has nothing to do with the politics.

Yeah, let's keep this one out of political commentary and keep it open. I'm curious about this movie. Actaully, a bit skeptical (all the terrorist stuff, political messages, etc.). So, I'm really interested in what these guys that see it have to say.

Btw, I agree and/or understand with many comments that were made, I'm just hoping for the sake of this thread we'll keep it clean.

The movie sounds interesting, but I wish it could have been made as a fantasy movie instead of a political piece. I know art is a product of its time, but in today's climate where almost everything is politically charged and/or offensive to someone, I wish people like the Wachowski brothers would just stick to making entertaining movies like the Matrix instead of pushing a political agenda.
But, the Matrix was also pushing a political/religious agenda.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

The matrix was a political motivated movie.....as was your post. Everything is politically motivated considering the fact that politics is nothing more than an extension of societal cultural beliefs......I don't understand how fantasy world would change anything?

I read this movie is hardly anything different than a typical hollywood blockbuster blowout....I will watch it to see if Natalie Portman can carry it but I have my doubts

I read the opposite - that it's being marketed as an action movie but if you go to it expecting to see tons of action sequences and explosions you're going to be disappointed by its relatively slow and deliberate pacing.

That's not a criticism, btw....I'd rather see a well-written story than another fluff action piece. Just sayin'.

                        Re: V for Vendetta

The movie needs to be renamed V for Very Little Action.

Anybody that expects this movie to be full of action is going to be really disappointed. The first 20 mins and last 15 mins were solid but everything in between moves at a really slow pace.

I thought Natalie Portman was going to kick some *** but she doesn't even fight anybody.

The movie also had frequent close up shots of the Chancellor. I didn't like this because the actor was extremely ugly and it became a distraction.

There was a scene near the end of the movie that made me shake my head.

                        V for Vendetta wasn't worth the $11 I paid.

You went in expecting the wrong type of movei, my friend.

It wasn't supposed to be a huge action movie

Hmmm.....Maybe I'll wait for DVD, then. I don't mind slower movies that make you think, but they definitely marketed V as more action-oriented.

This is a movie you have to read the reviews...not judge by the previews.

"It will trouble and challenge you"

                              "provokingly thoughtful"

I haven't really seen one review that said, or even claimed it was, a big action movie.
