    R.Kelly appreciation thread

"So hot you're on fire?" Amongst all the controversy around R.Kelly, I don't know what to think of him, but one thing is certain and that is R.Kelly is one talented artist. I'm writing this because I been listening to some of his songs lately, and two tracks "burn it up" and "slow wind" are in constant rotation for me. It's like that Boondocks epi, I guess. His musical talents will make you blind to the fact he's a pedophile(and whatever else).

"What the hell is wrong with you people? Every famous ***** that gets arrested is not Nelson Mandela! Yes, the government conspires to put a lot of innocent black men in jail on fallacious charges, but R. Kelly is NOT one of those men! We all KNOW the ***** can sing, but what happened to standards?! What happened to bare minimums?! You a fan of R. Kelly? You wanna HELP R. Kelly? Then get some COUNSELLING for R. Kelly! Introduce him to some older women! Hide his camcorder! But don't pretend like the man is a hero! (walks off) (returns) And stop the damn dancing! Act like you got some ******* sense, people! Damn! Through playin' round here." - Huey Freeman, The Boondocks

smh my head at you listening to those two songs. The mans catalog in the 90's is possibly the best of any solo R&B artist. This last album was very sub par.....if you really want to appreciate him go listen to "R. Kelly", "Chocolate Factory", etc

Kells is one of the most brilliant song writers in R&B. Alot of folks left him alone but I still listen to the man. He consistently drops hit although his last albums was meh. But he can take on damn near any genre. From steppin music to rap to gospel back to R&B, he can do it all. After the dust settles on his pedophile trail, which can take up to a decade for the dust to settle, the man will go down in the history books. He's shown us he has longevity, I can see him doing his thing for another 20 years.

                            Personally, I think R-Kelly sucks.

Yeah - I'm Trapped In The Closet. Brilliant. Part 489 was my favorite.

Perhaps one of the dumbest "songs" and videos I've ever seen.

The only thing I have to say about R. Kelly is that 12 Play is one of the greatest R&B albums ever made that stands out to this day. I got to give him props for creating that.

And that comment on him from The Boondocks strip is hilarious.
