One of the greatest TV theme songs ever! While I can't say I spent any part of my weekend watching the Sanford and Son marathon, I can say that I watch reruns on Nick @ Nite and TV Land every night before bed. Classic TV 4tehwin!

Re: I spent the entire weekend watching the Sanford and Son Marathon
I have bad memories associated with Sanford and Son.
Always loved the show, and the theme song is great. My first reaction when I saw the title of the tread was 'You poor soul'
When the show was in first run, I had contracted Rubella, I fell asleep to Sanford and Son because of the disease, I developed bad complications and woke up 2 weeks later. I almost died because of it, so I have a hard time watching Sanford and Son after that, for no other reason than the memories! But I love the other shows on TVLand!Comment

Damn... Sorry to hear about that.... You're missing one of the great comedic treasures, in my most humble opinion... I could watch Sanford and Son all day every day....Comment

Re: I spent the entire weekend watching the Sanford and Son Marathon
I remember when it was on local TV in NY 20+ years ago. For some reason, I never watched it - it made me depressed then.
Ever since TV Land started running it, it's a different story - I enjoy watching it. I used to watch it every night when it was on during my dinner hour a couple of years ago, but I've seen most episodes and I don't go out of my way to catch it."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."

I recall I enjoyed watching it, I always liked Grady and the Aunt, I may try to give it a look, it has been over 30 years since that, but still first thing I think when I hear 'da da da dah-duh' is that illness.Comment

Maaan....Sometimes i'm so jealous of the great tv rerun packages in the US. We don't get very much good stuff here.
Sanford and Son was a great show. Redd Foxx is just HEEEE-LIRIOUS.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: I spent the entire weekend watching the Sanford and Son Marathon
Like MASH, All in the Family and WKRP, the 1st 2 or 3 seasons were classic shows but then it lost it's freshness when Lamont mellowed out and Fred was using the same tired jokes. But man were those early shows were truly funny. Actually when Grady came on that's when I thought the show went downhill, he was annoying as hell. Bubba ruled.Comment

Funny this thread gets brought up because I watched my first episode of Samford and Son last week. It was the one where Lamont was wanting acting lessons and needed money, but Fred ended up taking it after seeing how he could make money through an informercial.
Pretty funny, I must say.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment
