That was funny, and I completely agree. As a matter of fact me and some friends had a discussion about him (Larry the Cable Guy) last night while they were watching him on TV instead of some thing about dead people that was more interesting. My arguement was that he doesnt do anything new, I saw him on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour movie...and I will admit it was funny...until I saw another comedy special with him...then last nite they were watching another one...I know that many comics uses the same material in their shows, but too most comedians dont use THE SAME EXACT COMEDY on every show that is being taped for television or movies...its one thing to use the same bit on a tour to different cities...but if you end up with one of your shows on TV then you need to come up with some new stuff...then being on TV 3 separate times in different shows with the same material still, there is no excuse (well, I guess as long as people are paying to see it and still lauging at it, then there is an excuse) Why do people pay to see him on screen or live when they know his whole routine? Like Cross said, its all one big fart joke and "rag head", "fag", and fat people jokes. But its because of that fanbase that guys like L.T.C.G, Trace Adkins, Jeff Foxworthy, the "Here's Your Sign" guy, Gretchen Wilson, Big and Rich, and other people like that pull in more money in a week than I will ever even see in my lifetime...I guess its a healthier habit spending money on those shows and DVDs and CDs than spending it on Skoal or Bud Light. And, I am not saying I dislike country music...its not my favorite by any means, but its not all bad. But a few weeks ago I was flipping channels and saw a Gretchen Wilson video where she was singing about getting no respect....OKAY! You get no respect but somehow you are getting paid, people buy tickets to your concerts, you get your music and videos played on radio and TV, people buy your music and merchandise...but you get no respect...riiiight.

I am not saying I don't like "simple comedy" I just dont understand the obsession with him...and too I just am not a fan of Rednecks, period.

I think the previews look horrible. They don't always do the movies justice, but it looks plain bad.

Most types of music are nothing but the same thing over and over.

Rap/Hip-Hop- how many times can I hear about partyin' in the club with the hoes?
Alt Rock- these guys do nothing but complain about how crappy their lives are
R&B- seriously, how many ways can you say "Sorry baby, I really F'd up. How can I make it up to you?"

Besides, when you go see a musician, you WANT to hear what they play all the time. And when they play something new, you're most likely disappointed. But, you're right when you say you want to hear new material when you see a comedian. It's just not a fair comparison.

Again, I say, that's the point. Some of you appear to be completely lost on the appeal of SoaP.

Re: Larry The Cable Guy : Health Inspector

But I want to address some of the things you write about me in "Git-to-Gittin'-r-Done". In response to the Rolling Stone article, but first let me say this; you are very mistaken if you think that I don't know your audience. Hell, I could've been heckled by the parents of some of the very people that come see you now. I grew up in Roswell, Georgia (near the Funny Bone and not far from The Punch Line). The very first time I went on stage was at The Punch Line in Sandy Springs in 1982 when I was 17. I cut my teeth in the south and my first road gigs ever were in Augusta, Charleston, Baton Rouge, and Louisville. I remember them very well, specifically because of the audience. I remember thinking (occasionally, not all the time) "what a bunch of dumb redneck, easily entertained, ignorant motherf*ckers. I can't believe the stupid sh*t they think is funny." So, yes, I do know your audience, and they suck. And they're simple. And please don't mistake this as coming from a place of bitterness because I didn't "make it" there or, I'm not as successful as you because that's not it at all. Since I was a kid I've always been a little over sensitive to the glorification and rewarding of dumb.

That's an excerpt from the open-letter David Cross wrote to the one and only, Larry The Cable Guy. Pretty much nailing the description of all of his fans.

So no... I won't be seeing it.

edit: D'oh.... Didn't read all the way through the thread to see the letter had already been brought up. Anyway, it's still a great quote. Good stuff Ruben

It sounds like a spoof of the whole horror/entrapment horror type movies but looking at the IMDB profile it isn't listed as a comedy.

Oh and any movie with Flex Alexander in it is bound to fail.

That's because it isn't a spoof, nor is it intended to be a comedy.

My feelings on SoaP is that it is so ludicrious of a situation that they cannot be taking themselves seriously anymore.

They had Sam Jackson come back in order to insert some more mother ****ers into the dialouge.

They added more gore and more mother ****ers from Sam Jackson for the internet fans.

I think it started as a serious movie, the net got ahold of it and loved it for how insane it is and the movie company went back to appease the fans.
