Shyamalan's flicks definitely fall under the "love em or really hate em" category.

I personally love em. Great stories and twists.

Agreed, it really looked like the trailer was trying to hide something... it was all so friendly yet it had this kinda creepy music... It looked like he was trying to set up a nice kiddy fairy-tail when he actually has a scary movie planned to shock the audience.

I think Unbreakable is grossly underrated. It is the only one of his movies that I feel has replay value.

It seemed like a complete 180 from the first time that I saw it. Maybe I matured, or maybe I knew that I wasn't expecting a horror movie. I don't know.

Granted, it's still not a terrific movie by any means, and all of Shyamalan's other movies are better IMO, but this movie was much better the second time around. I was wondering what everybody else thought, especially if you've seen it a second time.

Also, do you guys like Shyamalan's movies? I want him to continue writing and directing movies to see what else he comes up with. The only thing that detracts from his style is the slow-burn effect, especially in the dialogue.

I love his movies (except the Village). My favorite of his is Unbreakable, IMHO he did his best work there. I'm looking forward to Lady In the Water, as the trailer seems interesting. I really like his slow-burn style, but I do think he needs to start branching out. Of course, I would also love to see a sequel to Unbreakable.

6th sense was the best IMO.

The Village was great, up until the ending (the ending was a love-hate sorta thing. hated it)

Signs was ridiculously overrated and had a terrible terrible ending.

From now on, I'll watch his movies up until the last 15-20 min and turn it off or walk out of the theater.

I thought The Village was awful the first time, a little bit better the second time.

Still, it's not a movie I plan on seeing a third time.

For me, the alien itself was the biggest let down of Signs... I just wasn't impressed with the CGI there. Otherwise great suspensful movie.

I thought Signs was M Night Shamalamadingdong's best only because it was more clever in how the ending tied everything together rather than using the first 90 minutes of a movie as an excuse for a "shock" ending. The Village was so predictable and seemed more like a bad Twlight Zone episode and Adrian Brody was almost as annoying as Chris Tucker in the 5th Element.

Sixth Sense was one of the most brilliant movies I've ever seen.

We're bombarded with movies with a "twist", most of which are supremely forced or implausible.

I've talked to hundreds of people about Sixth Sense, and anyone being honest can not possibly say they figured out the twist before it was revealed. And the BRILLIANT part of that is, he was trying in every way possible to show you the twist, and we STILL didn't get it.

The Village is a cool story, but it was a bit forced. He was trying to make a political statement about authority controlling the masses through their fears and emotions. I liked it, but it was forgettable.

When Bruce Willis was sitting in the living room with the kid and his mom, she never spoke to him; Willis did all the speaking. When he was sitting at dinner with wife while she cried, only he spoke. No one ever spoke to Willis the entire movie but the kid, even though often there were people around.

Not until the ring dropped from her hand did you realize that Willis was dead the whole time.

Again, there were a million clues that he was dead, yet no one figured it out. Shyamalan fooled everybody even though his "twist" should have been obvious to us all. It's like he wasn't even hiding it, but we were too absorbed in the movie to put 2 and 2 together.

Well, I guess you're technically right since you never spoke to me, but the ending to me was obvious. In fact, I figured it out before I even saw the movie.

Despite that, it still had a dramatic effect. The movie is definitely setup to give you the twist, but also confuse you at the same time. I came in with the thought that Willis was dead and every now and then would ask myself how so-and-so was possible if he were indeed dead. Of course, the ending of the movie pretty much sums it up and I realized that those little things that made me want to retract my initial feelings were actually the things that confirmed my thoughts.
