Re: OFFICIAL Thief on Spike
So far, so juicy on the real. I'm liking it. It's like a type of Ocean's Eleven with a more gutter type of group. Good stuff. My boy Malik Yoba got a job again. I'm glad too. Good stuff.......
Interracial marriage. Threw me off on the real. I didn't even expect that one. She sexy as heck. It's getting better. So far the chemistry is flowing so well. Seems like it might be a head banger this season. I guess my Tuesdays are on lock too. All these goods.
AND ole girl from Terminator 1 & 2. Good actors/actresses.Last edited by luv_mist; 03-29-2006, 12:15 AM.Comment

Guess there weren't too many takes on this one huh? One season?? It does have potential. Hopefully more people jump on board. I give it a 7 for the beginning. Have a solid stable of good actors I think. Decent story line. Seems like a nice little something to watch on those dead Tuesdays when there aren't any games on.Comment

Maybe it's because Thief wasn't on Spike? It's on F/X! And that's on the real.Comment

Re: OFFICIAL Thief on Spike
Very disappointing, and a waste of Andre Braugher's talent. I guess I compare everything to his incredible work in "Homicide: Life on the Streets," and this show doesn't stack up. At least not the pilot.
Cliched, trite dialogue. Cliched storyline of bad man trying to live secret life as good man and the internal conflict between the two. Toss in the cliche of now being a single parent. The interracial aspect was about the only thing new and interesting.
Typical F/X show, masking a shallow story and script with profanity and excessive violence. "The Shield" being the exception to that trend, of course!
I much prefer "Hustle" on AMC for my con artist show. Much more clever, better acting, better script, not as violent and dark.
I had really high expectations for "Thief" based on previews and Braugher's presence, as he is my favorite actor on TV. But the show disappointed me, big time.
Take care,

Originally posted by ExtremeGamerI didn't see it but I've had the same feelings. The Shield is F/X's bread and butter, no matter what anyone says about Nip/Tuck. Seems like every show they make copies The Shield's formula. The Shield does it with ease and leaves no stone unturned in their stories, as I said before, it amazes me that they made an entire season, 4 years after the fact, on 10 minutes of the very first episode.
Take care,

Re: OFFICIAL Thief on Spike
I think it's kind of like Grey's Anatomy for me. Since there isn't anything else on, I could get into it. I kind of wish the wife would have stayed a little. I know that it's customary to compare all the time but it seems a little fresh to me. Maybe because I'm not really into watching shows that much. Heck, I can't even get back into Grey's Anatomy right now even though it's getting better and all. I think the video games are just interesting me so much more right now.Comment

Re: OFFICIAL Thief on Spike
I loved the pilot. I'm not a big fan of tv shows. I regularly watch Sopranos, Shield, 24, Prison Break. I decided to watch it after all the commercials from Shield and I really liked it. I't snot a stupid soap opera action type bs show like The Unit. I was really impressed with the storyline and the main heist that they are going to attempt. Plus it being on FX is huge. I watched the first episode of Heist on NBC and that was trash. This is much more realistic.Comment

I liked it as well. Looking foward to some more. As for Braugher, I dont like dude as an actor. Not one of my favs. Anyway, it does have an interesting plot so far with the killing of a friend with the daughter witnessing it. I see my guy from the defunct show "Kingpin" is on as well.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
