Re: The downfall of Whitney Houston

I just wonder what her friends and family have done to try and help her out.

Nobody forced her to try those hardcore drugs so she has nobody to blame but herself. It's obvious she has chosen drugs over becoming a good parent to her daughter.

She's already tried rehab and it didn't work. If you're not willing/able to give up drugs over your own daughter, than I don't know what will.

    A sad story all around.

Geez, Bobby Brown makes Ike Turner look like Mother Teresa. Bobby and Whitney are both a waste of DNA.

And nothing pisses me off more than calling drug abuse a "disease." Cancer, leukemia and cystic fibrosis are diseases. Drug abuse is a lifestyle choice, nothing more.

To put Whitney Houston smoking 8-balls every day in the same category as a 2-year-old fighting brain cancer in a chemo ward is beyond stupid. It's terribly insulting.

Let me ask you cats who feel sad for Whitney this question: If the same story was told about a regular person who wasn't a big pop star who used to be hotter than a campfire, would you feel the same sympathy? Do you feel the same sympathy for a crackhead in the alley of a major city?

I feel sorry for Whitney and Bobby's daughter. I feel little sympathy for her drug-infested parents, who both seem more concerned with their next fix than caring for their daughter.

I dont know man. All of this condemning and all, but drugs are a vice.

Im sure lots of guys on this board have vices too like porn, and alcohol and other things not named.

She needs help in the worst way, and im not sure she even cares about it at this point though.

Im sure we've all had a family member close or distant addicted to drugs and it wasnt pretty. Im sure we were all concerned at one point or another at that.

Its obvious the stuff has her mind. Its sad too.

She doesnt have the power to let it go like some do. Sadly I think it may have taken her to the point where it will kill her, but they should've said something long ago, not wait until she's almost at the point of hopelessness.

This isnt the kind of thing that will go away in a day.

She made her bed, and she is lying in it now.

Yep she shoulda never gotten into it but that's life. Superstardom brings tons of pressure so eventually you're going to fall into some kind of vice. Drugs is probably the most accessible and as much as it's a cliche it can be a gateway to a downward spiral. I'm not going to condemn her for getting hooked on the drugs but she should seriously try to recover.

I agree with PK 100%. She had so much going for her, looks and talent and she threw it all away by getting involved with a then known bad boy who had his share of problems. I can't feel sorry for her at all. She wasted her life first by getting involved with Bobby Brown and has since paid the consequences.

Agreed, that was her problem. She had all kinds of marriage offers at the height of her career and chose that slug who was aknown party animal and a bad boy to begin with. She decided to take the rebel route and she lost.

If you think shes weak cause shes having trouble kicking the crack, you obviously have no clue.. Unless you experienced withdrawls first hand, you really shouldn't be making comments like that.. I was taking pain meds from a DR for my bladder diease..Ofcourse my DR claimed the meds weren't addicting, but they were.. & getting off them was the toughest thing ever..It's not just the physical withdrawls..Its the mental withdrawls.. & your body & mind will do some crazy Sht to entice you to 'feed it'..

& no, it's not a disease..That allows the drug user to become the victim & not accept responability for their actions.. I never heard of anyone getting hooked ona drug without taking it before..

Becoming addicted to doctor-prescribed pain meds isn't exactly a reasonable parallel to trying coke and getting addicted to it.

Billions of people have successfully kicked drug habits before, it isn't impossible.
