Re: DMB full studio catalog now on iTunes
I know that if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything, but GOD DO I DESPISE THIS BAND.
I am against the inclusion of their catalog on iTunes, if only because it increases the likelihood that I will accidentally click on a song of theirs and purchase it during one of my patented drunken late night iTunes binges.
Get The Beatles catalog on there, or The Smiths or Radiohead, a GOOD band for once Apple!I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

After I read the title, the first thing I thought was, had this deal included their live material, it would be something to brag about.Originally posted by abates21you should see them live before you hate on them.

I used to like DMB. Yeah, I remember that... Day.
Seriously though, I've got the studio albums from UtT&D and Everyday and a couple of their live albums, but that's really all I need. Hell, even with all those albums in my library, I'm still only listing 23 DMB plays on last.fm, that should tell you something.

Re: DMB full studio catalog now on iTunes
Actually, I've been there and done that. To me, they represent the worst kind of a "jam" band-"instrument wankers". That is, meandering and masturbatory, turgid and boring. Even worse is their repeated, unforgivable butchering of "All Along the Watchtower". Not only that, but while I was at that show, I nearly passed out from the heavy cloud of Abercrombie "Woods" hanging in the air. Only their drummer is any good to my ears, and even he gets a little carried away with himself at times.Originally posted by abates21you should see them live before you hate on them.I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. I'm sorry, but I have to interject with a totally unrelated point. Silverstring, your sig reminds me of the latest episode of South Park where everyone gets hybrid cars and "smug" pollutes the air instead of smog....carry on.Originally posted by SilverstringActually, I've been there and done that. Funny you say that cause everyone I've ever had listen to that song, thinks its great. I think they are known for having the best rendition of that song. I think it's damn good. But to each his own.Originally posted by SilverstringActually, I've been there and done that. To me, they represent the worst kind of a "jam" band-"instrument wankers". P.S. You aren't saving any money with your Hybrid. Replacing the battery costs more than any amount of gas.Comment

Re: DMB full studio catalog now on iTunes
I thought that episode was HILARIOUS, and well placed parody of some of my fellow hybrid owners. All my signature mentions is Miles-per-gallon and gas prices. Nothing political, or anything about saving the environment/world. Is it wrong to "promote" a stat/car using miles per gallon in the face of rising fuel costs? I don't think so. Im satisfied/pleased with a product that I bought, not with myself in any socio-political context. People put women, or game systems, or CDs that they own in their sigs, not for self-contentedness or cultural capital, I think, but perhaps just to share positive opinions. If that view casts me as "smug", I don't give a ****.Originally posted by HerbsinatorI'm sorry, but I have to interject with a totally unrelated point. P.S., you are WRONG. If I had to replace the battery TODAY, that might be true. But I don't, and it has a 10-yr warranty. Not only that, but you can't forecast future gas prices closely enough to make that argument with any conviction. By the time of battery replacement, the technology will have matured and part costs will be WAY down, just like any other vehicle. I bought the car, and did the associated research, and plan on long-term ownership. Half-baked arguments against hybrids are easy to brush aside. Why anyone would be motivated to argue against a car that saves gas and has other associated benefits is beyond me, unless there is a secondary slant.
Back on topic, I suspect you are talking to others in your peer group, ones who probably have a bias toward DMB, and thus find the song enjoyable on an intertextual level.I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

Re: DMB full studio catalog now on iTunes
Haha, it actually makes me kind of uncomfortable when I drive past another and I get a honk or some kind of thumbs up. I didn't buy the car to be like the latest poseur with his new Birdhouse skate deck, to elbow into to a subculture. By the way...I didn't, I have to look at the keys when I type.Originally posted by HerbsinatorI'll give you a pass this time...I just hope you didn't type your sig with your eyes closed.I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid.
