Wow, ANOTHER reason to buy a Mac, and another common "excuse" for not doing so eliminated.

Better designed/looking, OS X included, AND the ability to dual boot? Unless you HAVE to build your own or are a miser, I think a Mac is looking pretty attractive right now....

I had Windows on my old Powerbook using Virtual PC... I'm sure this'll be 1000x better than that, though.

            Awesome news.

            This Apple comment is funny.

Sadly, Windows XP, and even the upcoming Vista, are stuck in the 1980s with old-fashioned BIOS. But with Boot Camp, the Mac can operate smoothly in both centuries.

              Wow

I've been looking in to getting a new computer. I've really taken a liking to my friends mac, but never really thought I'd get one. But I'm pretty sure this is the clincher for me.

same here. I've been considering getting a Mac for a while, but the switchover worries me. Looks like I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Ive been thinking about getting one for a few months....

I have been using my buddies mac in class alot and i really like it, but I have always been a windows guy.

Now I can get the best of both worlds.

I ordered my Macbook Pro this morning, and it will be here next week

Plus I got $300 from buying it through Auburn.

                  here are my stats:
15.4-inch TFT display with 1440x900 resolution

2.0GHz Intel Core Duo with 2MB shared L2 Cache (1)

                  667MHz frontside bus

                  1GB (single SO-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM

100GB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard drive

                  Slot-load SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW)

ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB GDDR3 memory

I'm confused. Why would you buy a Mac just to run windows? I thought the whole appeal of a Mac was so that you can run the Mac Operating System?

Isn't that like buying a DVD/VCR combo, JUST so you can play DVDs? Why not just buy the DVD player?

There are a ton of reasons why being able to run a Windows OS would be helpful. Most PC games are only Windows compatible, so gamers can just boot up Windows when they want to play, and switch over to their Mac OS to surf the web, listen to music, etc.

Also their are some file formats that don't work with a Mac OS. For example, I've been trying to get the Royals on Radio broadcasts through a Kansas City radio station's (810 WHB) webcast. But I can't get the file (an .asx) to run. I tried this on my PC back home, and it worked fine.

This is an awesome capability that will make Mac computers a much more attractive and viable alternative for gamers, buisnesspeople, and casual users alike.

I love my powerbook. Its almost 2.5 years old, and I still think it is the best looking laptop around. Not to mention it runs OS X, which is a great OS. After switching from years of windows, its been really nice.

The ability to dual boot is awesome, and it runs both platforms natively. The new Macs are easily the most versatile computer available now. I'm assuming they can still run linux, too.
