I switching threw the channels the other day and on MTV (which should come up with a new name b.c they only play music videos a couple of hours a day) I seen this show that was called sweet 16, which I thought is a horrbile show. All the kids parents on the show are filthy rich and give there kids whatever they want. They also talk back to there parents like there pieces of crap. If I would of pulled that when I was 16 I would of got a italian smack across my face. My point is that this show set's a bad example for teenagers. Most 16 year olds can't get what these spoiled unconsiderite brats get and I am sure some of the kids that watch this show beg there hardworking parents for the same things, but finiancially can't get them. I had to turn this show of b/c it is such a bad show and sets a poor example for America. MTV Please change your name b/c you are not a music station anymore, you are a reality Newtwork.

People still watch MTV? Wasn't that so 10 years ago? I agree it probably sets a bad example for teenagers but I seriously doubt any are watching.

Are you serious? Tons of people watch MTV, just go to myspace and look at 18-25 yr old profiles, they all love real world Laguna something, etc.

Fuse is music videos. And its shows are music-related, gasp. Yes I know its crazy.

I was talking to some friends today who love those whack MTV shows and I asked why they even have the M in MTV anymore. I mean, I checked and the only time they show videos outside of TRL is 6-7 AM, and TRL only shows snippets now. I remember when the actually showed whole videos on TRL like 6-7 years ago. MTV is pathetic, VH1 is much better but thats not saying much. Fuse is the new channel for music my friends.

I remember watching one show of that Sweet 16 and the parent took the daughter to Paris to by a outfit. Wow.

As for MTV, I still surf to that channel just out of habit. But I hate it with a passion. Every show on there is gay. MTV 2 and MTV Jams are where its at for music. Fuse like ILLCHILL said is nice to.

Just about any show on TV is an awful example for kids. I stopped watching TV shows in '97 or '98 caus TV just went way downhill.

A buncha my friends are fans of 24 and The Shield and stuff like that so I guess those shows are exciting, but 99% of the stuff on TV today is mindless crap.

It's a sad sign too that crap seaped into the ESPN family of networks and ruined that too.

"Real World" (the last...say...10 seasons) is the WORST show on TV in terms of messages to kids.

- Casual Sex
- Drink
- More Random Sex
- Drink
- Fight
- Drink
- Sex

All that and it gives such a slanted view on "The Real World". Real World people have jobs. Real World people have bills. Real World people aren't 95% white and pretty.

If the Real World would have went off the air after the end of the San Francisco Season (#3) and it would be highly regarded in Television and American History. Instead, they bastardized it and killed it.
