    Laptop Advice

I need to get some of the best advice I can. The situation is that my father wants to get into stocks and investing. He wants a laptop that works well with his needs. Wants it to be affordable but decent enough. I would tell him to get one off the internet but so far it seems that most companies have crappy laptop. I know where to go for gaming laptops but things dealing with business is a bit cloudy. Of course, Dell pops in my mind but you can't really upgrade those and they do a lot of corner cutting to get maximum profit. Some are great but I still have sour taste in my mouth with them. My girl had a Sony Viao and it just gave her four years of bull and stress. Papers lost, documents lost, constant repair service.....

Who has the best laptops out there for business-oriented working. Also, which type of wireless network card should I be looking to be included? If any of you guys have laptops, drop me a line with any information. All will definitely be needed.

IBM or now Leveno, but they are pricey compared to others, but they have less problems. Send me a PM if you find one you like and I'll get you an employee price.

If he wants an affordable yet decent laptop I would recommend Dell.

In Canada, you can get an Acer for about 699 CDN with 17.4 inch screen, 80GB HDD, 512MB DDR, DVD/CD-RW combo, etc...

I have a higher acer and have had sony and toshiba laptops before and my acer is soooooo much better and smoother... i love them.. affordable and great machines

Honestly, the differences between manufacturers is marginal. The most important thing is cost.

If you F the laptop up, in all likelihood, it is because you don't know how to use a computer plus enjoy surfing porn all day. Sure, hardware breaks all the time, but it probably happens at an even rate amongst all the large providers (Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Toshiba, HP, et al). Just go with the best price given your power requirements and don't worry about manufacturer.
