They replace rungs off of the large base of the cup with a new one every couple years. At least I think that's what they do.

No, they don't replace any of the rings. They add a new one. The origional Stanley Cup was just the very top "cup" part and has been added to and added to over the years.

At least those three trophies have shape and definition. The World Cup trophy just looks like someone bronzed and gold-plated a pile of crap.

I suppose if you like a plaque that looks like it was made in a junior high woodshop, or maybe a gravy boat, sure. Again, just my opinion.
