The computer that I am using is kinda old(2002 I believe) it's a Great Quality computer without all the bells and whistles. You are possibly right since the computer I'm trying to connect may not even be compatible. The picture though is exactly what I have. The only difference thought is that my tv does't have the 4 holes near that thing that goes like a plus sign and also as far as the plus sign my tv only has a negative or minus slot ( so I bought cords that were compatible and bought a universal attachment that allow you to use both the plus and minus type of dvi plugs........appreciate all your help.

Re: Will dvi cables allow me to ............
Silly question, but you are changing the tv to the "DVI" input, right ? I think that TV has a connection that says "PC" too. When you hit "source" on the remote (I think that is what it says on the Akia) , you should be able to switch between the different connections.
Do you by chance know what type of video card you have ??? If you go into the device manager (right click on 'my computer' , select "hardware tab" and then click "device manager") , you will see "display adapters". Click on the pluse sign and open it up and it will tell you the video card type.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

The tv has Component 1,AV1-AV3,DVI( though I haven't used it because I don't have one plugged in it has a S-Video as well) No "PC" though. I am going to have to plug in the oringinal monitor because I am using a different computer that allows me to comunicate with you gentlemen. Meaning I have two PCs and I want one connected to a tv and the other to it's own monitor....Comment
