Not me. I have May filled up except for that week. I figured I would pick up Neko Case's "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood" instead.

I'm much more hyped for Songs From Black Mountain, then again, I've never been able to even tolerate the Chili Peppers.

I'm a casual fan, I own their last four albums actually. The last two albums just seem like an attempt to throw as many potential singles on an album as they possiblely can. If I hear enough good things I may end up getting it at a cheaper first week price, but I"m not planning on it as of now. I am more excited for Grandaddy's "The Fambly Cat" which comes out that same day.

Definately gonna get this one. RHCP is probably my favorite band of all time. Hopefully they take it back to the roots with this one, little more funk.

John Frusciante said Omar from The Mars Volta has been a huge influence on his work on this cd, with a lot more wild solos and stuff, so I'm excited

Well I hope thats true. I think the new single sucks and they need to get off the California theme. I'm also getting tired of Anthony Keidis (sp) vocal delivery (quick rhymes that are thrown together). Oh well, I still like them and would love to see them live.

Local H has a song "California Songs," I think it sums up most people's thoughts on the recurring California themes, lol. Funny song.

Anyways, I'll probably give Stadium Arcadium a listen when it comes out, but as of now I don't plan on buying it unless it's really good. I just bought the new EoDM album, and with Pearl Jam's and Tool's albums coming out next Tuesday, I don't have much more money to be wasting on CDs right now

Re: Stadium Arcadium on the 9th

My friend IM'ed me the other day saying that Dani California was utterly phenomenal. I gave it a listen and I wasn't that impressed. The main riff and melody doesn't really do it for me. It sounds pretty much like all their other songs, with nothing really new to the table. I echo the sentiment of others in this thread who say "Um. Enough with the California theme already?"

I'll probably give Stadium Arcadium a listen, but I don't really have any expectations of *** kicking to ensue.

One sorta cool thing is the music video for this song. For parts of it, they create an effect to make it seem like the video was taking place in the late 1950's or 1960's, a la The Beatles early success. I thought that was pretty rad...

You can check it out on the Yahoo music video page.

The video is cool, but its been done before. Maybe not with so many parodys packed into one, but it has still been done. The song is weird, AK's vocals don't sound like his normal self. And seriously, we know you love California, write a song about something else.

Although Dani California is about a person, I'm not sure why they didn't give him another name. But still, the song sounds like it would have been on Californication, so its not a bad single I suppose.

As for the video, when they're playing as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, he looks more like Prince than Jimi.

heh, I made almost the exact same post on another forum and it was met with almost the exact same reaction.

Needless to say from the fact that I made almost the exact same post, I can't wait.

And Dani California is a her

The album leaked, it is getting the standard "best album they've made in 10 years" or "worst album ever!" impressions from what I am reading.

Ha. I read a journal on last.fm about it and the kid said it was "their best ever." I just rolled my eyes.

Each disc is 14 songs and over an hour long, that is a lot of music, fans should be pleased.
