I have seen alot of "IFFY" calls in Baseball this year. But the worst I would have to say is Basketball. Too many fouls get called/not called depending on who you are rather then what actually happened. Curling is a close third.

I've got to say soccer. The offside rule is dreadful. It never favors the attacking player like it's supposed to. The quicker we get instant replay the better.

I thought it was supposed to favor the defender and avoid "cherry-picking"?

Well before, if a player was level with a defender he was flagged for offside. The rule now is supposed to be, when they are level the attacker is to get the benefit of the doubt and be ruled onside. Very rarely does this go in favor of the attacker. Just ask Kevin Phillips of Aston Villa when he scored the "equalizer" against Manchester City on Tuesday. He was level and the goal was called back.

offsides in soccer has to be one of the hardest things to officiate if you think about it. The official is standing on the sideline, cant really see exactly where a player is when there are other players between him and the official, and also point of view might be hindered by the length of distance between them and the players. That being said, sometimes it seems they call offsides too quickly, and really do need instant replay in those situations. C. Ronaldo had a goal wiped out when he was clearly on side, every angle showed it, but the goal was scratched becuase some guy without a good view of it ruled him off.

Also, NBA is terrible. Almost all pro sports are getting worse and worse. I like how the commentators always say "you wont get that call against so and so, hes been in the league for 10 years!" If it is a foul, its a foul, shouldnt matter who it is. NBA is terrible about this, and the players expect the officials to let them get away with stuff if they are all stars or vets.

basketball is definitely the worst officiated. but u cant really blame the refs. Its a hard game to officiate because the rules are so ambiguous

basketball... no other sport has a major rule so ignored as the travel is by the NBA refs.

Exactly. It's amazing how many players travel or shuffle their feet with no calls. Players have taken more then 2 steps a billions times with no calls. It's stupid. The most basic thing you learn when playing basketball is to not travel yet it is done daily in the NBA with no calls.
