The PowerMacs are amazing, but they're expensive. If I could afford it I'd get one, but the iMacs are great too for everyday use.Last edited by TheGenius; 05-03-2006, 01:09 PM.Comment

Re: The New MAC Commercials
Macs are good but it will cost you more to get a Mac with the same "power" as a PC, so you're really paying for the Mac brand. If you just use your computer to mess around and play the occassional game you might as well stick with a PC. If you're really into multimedia functions and you're not concerned about the higher cost, then go with a Mac.Comment

Re: The New MAC Commercials
Cute, but the majority of people don't buy based on hip commercials, but rather low prices and what everybody else has. Given the market share of 'Doze, Apple really seems to be fighting an uphill battle here.
Also, what's the point of going head to head with Microsoft in the desktop market? It's well known that the new paradigm for computing is the Internet platform, which is where Google and Microsoft will be taking things. I predict in a decade or so, your desktop OS will largely be irrelevant.
I think it's really a waste of money to spend on actors and cute marketing campaigns to get people to switch to a Mac desktop when the market is shifting as we speak (away from desktop OS's).Comment

Re: The New MAC Commercials
They're just trying to capitalize on the current popularity of their iPod and iTunes software that PC users have adopted. It doesn't look like this is a huge, expensive marketing campaign as the only commercials I've seen was pretty basic. They might sell a few more units this way, as Mac's are more popular right now than maybe any other point in time (since Windows, that is), but they'll never over-take the PC.Comment
