Well, along the lines of that quote, it'd honestly be better if there were more attractive teachers because I do know that has a positive effect on both males and females alike. I've seen guys and girls go to class a lot more and pay attention a lot more if the teacher of the opposite sex is more attractive. The sex part, obviously we could do without.

That is very true.

I remember growing up in school always hating the teachers who were very unattractive. Call me superficial. But got did I LOVE those student teachers when I was in about 5th grade until HS grad. Mmm mmm mmmmmm.

Or, instead of trying to get only attractive teachers in the classroom, we could actually work on making teachers qualified individuals who actually know how to run a class and not handcuff them by making them robots who only cater to stupid standardized tests.

Salary is a key issues, yes. But not more important than completely revamping federal and state guidelines which cater to and favor standardized tests. There are plenty of qualified teachers out there but this is the key thing keeping them from being such. Now, if those teachers were actually allowed to impact and influence students as they should be, that would increase the desire for HS grads to become teachers themself.

Well, knowing how well that change has worked, I figured hotter teachers would be easier, haha. All of my HS teachers hated having to teach for standardized tests instead of by the lesson plan. Hopefully that all changes when I become a teacher

That was an extremely disturbing video. Especially when you know that was sent to a 13 year old boy.

She sent that video after she already went through the court process. She didn't learn her lesson the first time. She needs professional help and should be locked up for a few years.

If that was my son that recieved that type of video, I would be really upset.

For anyone who has ever used this statement, and I know there are a large number of them here at OS, I hope and pray that one day you don't have to deal with a male teacher one day sending sexy videos to your fourteen year old daughter.

The double standard is just sickening.

I think that whole double standard thing is wrong. many times men are looked at as the physically dominating class. the media has seemed to take it a step further... i guess in a way they feel the male kid could defend himself and overpower a lady teacher... maybe a "sexist" viewpoint, but thats sorta how i see that perception.. i mean youd hope youd look at them as equals but its simply not 100% true.

At fourteen, males are horn-balls, to put it bluntly, while females are not. Sex seems to drive teenage boys and a 14 year old boy could probably psychologically handle the situation better than a 14 year old girl. I'm not saying there aren't girls at that age who aren't consumed by sex or boys who are not (and thus would be traumatized by this situation), just as a general overview. I think it should be wrong and illegal both ways though, as a boy that age may not be traumatized in the same way a girl would be, but he certainly could be manipulated by this woman. And any adult who is looking to sleep with a 14 year old kid has some serious issues.

I think that in an attempt to make your point, you are making the opposite. The reason that a 14 year old boy ISN'T psychologically ready is because he is a walking hormone. 14 year olds want to stick it where ever it is warm and wet... animal, vegetable or mineral... thus, they are in no position to make an informed an intelligent decision about it.

While I agree it is far less likely for a boy to be "traumatized" by a Mrs. Robinson moment... it doesn't make it right.
