    Moving Audio Library

I recently got a new laptop and it's on the wireless network in my house.

On our main computer I have a playlist of about 200 songs in Windows Media Player. Roughly 150 are downloads from Napster and the other ones are ripped from CD's. What's the best way to transfer the playlist and files (as well as the licenses for the Napster content) to my laptop? I'd also like to transfer the Windows Media Player information for the files (specifically song ratings and play counts - I use them to make auto playlists) to the laptop if possible.

    Thanks.

I'd say data CD or a memory stick.

I did it by sharing the folders on my desktop while I grabbed them, put them on my laptop, then unshared those folders.

      Worked pretty well.

I was going to do that, but does that also take care of the licenses for the protected content?

I have some songs that were iTunes protected, all I did was allow this comp to use those files. I can't help with Napster or WMP.

Burn them on a CD as MP3 files if you have a burner and then transfer them across. You can fit 200 songs on two 700MB CD's, with ease. It's also a snap to drag-and-drop them with a CD, and you'll have a nice backup for your tunes in case your hard drive ever crashes.

              Good luck.

              Take care,
