    Problems!!

    Problem #1:

I have an Acer 5000 and I picked up a trojan, even with a good norton. Anyways, Ive re-formatted it before and no problems, all I did was pop in the 1st of 3 cds my pc came with and i rebooted it and no problems but now I cant. I borrowed my buddy's windows xp and tried doing it that way, but now i have xp home and xp media centre edition and when the pc restarts, i gotta choose which to use... OMG!

Can anyone help me? I guess i dont have any windows cds then tho.... I just want the 3 cds i came with to work....

    Problem #2:

There shouldnt be any problems with here at OS so i'll say it. I bought my bro the smallville seasons 1-4. He wont let me watch them (ive been known to scratch cds/dvds). Anyways, he burnt them for me on his pc (we live in the same house). Anyways, he burnt one and he was burning dvd 2 and now his dvd burner doesnt work it seems. He thinks its fried--not even cds or normal dvds work. Anything we can do?

    Thx guys

problem #1, you are dual booting windows, only way to fix this is to get rid of the one you don;t want, don't remember how to fix this other than to use setup disk to delete the install.

problem #2, you need to explain what is happening

for #1.. all you have to do is pop in your xp cd. Restart, then hit F8 or F12 (not sure which one) you'll have to boot from the CD.

Once you boot to the cd, just do a fresh install. Delete all your partitions, and format it. Then do a brand new install of XP.
