I believe it's Best Buy own brand of electronics.

That's true and I was told by a BB Sales Rep in the TV Dept. that they use different manufactures to help keep the cost down on the sets. I saw a few Insignia TV's and they looked ok, not bad for the price.

If the original poster wants a pretty good set for the money, take a trip over to CC. They sell the Samsung 27" Slimfit HDTV and the Panasonic 26" Widescreen HDTV for under $550. Those sets are pretty sweet as well as heavy as they are CRT based.

My favorite TV's are the Panasonic sets, great colors and great for gaming.

Well, I was looking for a tv for my bedroom. Nothing too fancy, but nice. Anyway, I went with the Insignia 30" Flat tube Wide screen. Bought it for $520.

It was 30 dollars cheaper than the Samsung 27" Flat tube, Square screen.

And I figured that with the impending switch of the tv networks to the widescreen format (2008, I think), this was probably the better deal.

So far, been pleased with it.

I almost bought this one, but since there was only 1 component on it and no HDMI I decided not to. I almost also bought that Samsung Slimfit Flat Tube HDTV this past week, but decided against it since I wanted a 16:9 instead.

I actually bought a 30" Toshiba Theaterwide HDTV for $569 open box at Best Buy since it normally retails for $800. I was looking at the Insignia's and Samsungs, but they were missing features. This TV that I bought is for my office to game on with my PS2 and watch DVD's while on the PC so it didn't matter, but the $$$$ I was going to spend I figured to go with an open box TV that was higher in price to begin with.
