Brand new NES 8 bits!
Playmessiah.com has taken advantage of the original 8 bit NES/Famicom copyright expiring and has a new console capable of playing almost all of the old NES games. I first heard about it in an EGM magazine hot/not section(it was in the hot column). I took the plunge and ordered one today. I have alot of good memories and quite a few NES cartridges in storage. My old NES is unreliable, and this new system has wireless controllers and component cables for easier hook up to modern tv sets. Will post reviews when I receive it!Tags: None -

Wow thats pretty cool. I got a question though... is there any kind of flash cartridge or something that you can flash the old NES games to? -

Anyway, I recently gave all my games to my cousin who just graduated from AppState... so I don't think I'll be splurging on this. However, if I did just get this and Super Mario, I think that would be worth it.Rose City 'Til I Die

Im looking forward to playing some friends in Tecmo Bowl! Duerson on returns is a mad man, and Singletary on defense!
After that Ill probably start up a SNK Baseball league again, damn that was a fun game, I remember spazzing out that I could actually create my own players and manage their abilities.
And finally Ice Hockey, a team of little dudes that can fly and just one big enforcer to keep back.Comment

This thing is amazing! After reading about it in an EGM I bought one of the first available and gave it to my mom for Christmas (she's a HUGE Dr. Mario fan). The box works great, thought the slot loading is a bit odd (the cartridge pushes in from the front and sticks out from the unit...it's also very snug). Pretty sweet playing those old games again. Makes for an easy escape when we do our family trips.I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

Any issues with the old games not working on it? I know a place where I can get pretty much any NES game I want, but they're all very used. If the old games act fine, then maybe I'll splurge and pick this up.Lux y VeritasComment

On the website there is a compatability chart showing what games can or cant be played and some that may have some slight glitches. Quickly looking up most of the games I care about, all work fine.Comment
