Need an Audio/TV Expert....

OK i am having a wierd problem.


I moved my 47 inch TV from Auburn to Birmingham today. I go to set it up in my new apartment, and there appears to be a radio a station playing faintly from one of my speakers. It is 102.5 here in birmingham. Whenever the television is on, the station is coming out of the speaker. My TV Volume control does not have any effect on the sound. I can turn my TV up loud enough to to where I cant here the station in the background, but if there is a scene that is really quiet, I can here the station. It doesnt matter what input my TV is on, the station plays WHENEVER my television is on. Has anyone ever heard of this, and is there any quick fix for it?

I used to have that problem and it had to do with the shielding of the speakers. I got heavier shielding for my speakers and it went away. If you're talking about the actual tv speakers though I can't imagine how you would fix that.

I'd try moving the tv if you can because even moving it a foot may make it stop, much like an antenna it's picking up the signal and much like an antenna moving it may make it stop.

yeah, move it around and it might stop. Do you have an antenna hooked to the tv ???

ill try to move it around in the morning and see if that will help

Try plugging it in to another outlet if you have one close. You can also try using a surger protector if you have one. That might work.

didnt work....


I can turn my speakers off via an option in the menu, and the sound quits...

Of course that doesnt help me since i now cant listen to my TV....


I may have to go out and buy surround sound....

There has to be some way to fix this.

how are you watching TV with no antenna ?? Are you using cable or satellite or something ?? I will check the home audo forum I go to and see what they say....

Also, do you get that noise only when watching tV or also when watching dvds, playing videogames etc?

no antenna plugged into the TV... .and i get the sound whenever the TV is on.... I can have zero inputs plugged into the TV, and i get the radio station.
