Installing OSX on a mac using discs burned on a PC?

I recently bought a used Mac G4. It didn't come with any installing or restore discs. The hard drive that came with the computer is toast. I need to install the OS on a new hard drive, but I have a PC to work from. I've downloaded numerous DV D and CD installation discs, using Transmac and MacDrive to burn the discs. I cannot install the OS. I continue to get errors where the Mac is telling me that file aren't written properly. Does anybody know of a foolproof way to burn Mac installation discs on a PC?

part of the problem may be the fact that the Mac operating system (OS X) makes sure it is a Mac by checking something similar to the Windows BIOS (I think).

What format is the new hard drive formatted in? If it's formatted incorrectly (in the wrong type), you may have a problem. Make sure it's formatted in HFS+ format, not FAT.

I partitioned the new drive in HFS+. The #2 install disc is not completing installation. Do you know if I can just burn the straight .iso file, or is it super important to let transmac "translate" it?
