Life goes on, and while I'm pretty sure I will keep buying the rest of their stuff (being from NC), I don't think I'll like anything of theirs as much as I liked The Listening, The Chitlin Circuit and the Minstrel Show.

Re: Little Brother Blog entry...
I knew after "The Minstrel Show" that these dudes were about to turn mainstream and get away from what made them one of everybody's favorite Phonte, Big Pooh and 9th Wonder, and I hate that they are going to change the focus of their music. Their focus used to be about being the average cat that has a part time job, that still tries to have fun rapping at the same time. It does, however, make sense that they would change since they aren't those type of people anymore. Now they are industry cats.Originally posted by Streets

I agree with that opinion on backpackers. If it sounds good it sounds good. Don't hate the guy just cause he is mainstream. I bet if Mos Def went double platnium he would lose a lot of respect from the underground.Originally posted by StreetsLOL!
Slow down Tay, ya killen em...
I'm suprised this thread hasnt blown up yet.
He basically called backpackers "music snobs" and "clingy b****es". Most of OS is backpackers or they listen exclusively to underground rap. This is some of the realest stuff i've ever read about the divide in hip hop and it was written by none other than one of the kings of the underground. I wonder how alot of LB's fans feel about this. I'm thinking alot of underground heads have the same perception of rap music that this chick does.Free The Birds!!!Comment

Re: Little Brother Blog entry...
The "Separate But Equal" mixtape definetely showcased how Little Brother is taking their feet and dipping it into the mainstream while still keeping it real... and that Mix is FIRE!!! I love it, and I probably will never stop listening to it... that track with Bun B is my favorite, and even the Underground-loyal XCell has to give it up for "On My G"... as mainstream as that gets, Little Brother did a fantastic job on it.Originally posted by 3rdAnswerI knew after "The Minstrel Show" that these dudes were about to turn mainstream and get away from what made them one of everybody's favorite Phonte, Big Pooh and 9th Wonder, and I hate that they are going to change the focus of their music. With some people that might be the case but to people who can actually think, they wouldn't lose respect for Mos.Originally posted by supremeslangI agree with that opinion on backpackers. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
