I like it a lot. I've been using it for a while now and have switched all my addresses switched over. I like the built in web messenger at gmail.com because it isn't blocked at work like all the other services. I like the notifiers as well.

It has spectacular spam filtering. I forward all my email to my gmail account, and it is compatible with Thunderbird and Outlook.

gmail is my main email server. I use yahoo to sign up for stuff on the net and get all the junk their.

It also has google talk for chat and they compliment each other very well

I also use Gmail as my main account and have junk mail sent to my yahoo account. I don't know too many people with gmail so I still use yahoo for messanger. But yeah gmail is a very good email service.

exactly what i do. all my online shopping, ebay, even myspace i use yahoo. gmail i use for more important things

I haven't seen it that much. I've been using Yahoo Mail for about 10 years now...really never had much of a spam problem.

I actually use Gmail for my spam account. That account is flooded.

Overall, it just depends on what you sign up for online. If you sign up for a bunch of stuff with a Gmail account, it'll likely get spammed. Same with a Yahoo account.

Spyware is different. You'll likely get more from websites and downloading stuff rather than through email. I've actually never seen an email infect a user with spyware, but I know it's possible.

Thats what I do as well. They're all the same to me, I've just had Yahoo longer so use it as my primary address. I use my gmail account to sign up on websites which cuts down on the spam I get at Yahoo. Either way, Yahoo's spam filtering is pretty solid so stuff that does slip through never makes it to my inbox.
