The 300 is of course because of the adamantium, and the 5'3" can be achieved through camera tricks the way they made the hobbits in LOTR.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm pretty sure all of these could take Wolverine.

But anyway, I can see I've offended the X Men fans here with my questioning the badassedness of Wolverine. Maybe he just comes off more badass in the actual comic (which I've never read). So, I apoligize.
Magneto could have killed him, but Erik is first and foremost pro-mutant, and has respect for the X's even if their methods clash. In the comics, he nearly destroyed Wolvie by sucking the adamantium through his pores (ouch) but then that pissed Prof X pretty badly and in his outrage, he effectively killed Magneto by completely wiping his mind clean. Magnus eventually returned with no memory of his past, and actually led the X-Men for a while. His mind also resurfaced in the form of Onslaught.

Jean Grey is telekenetic and could only smash him around. Even if she rained knives down on him and nearly flayed him alive, his metal skeleton and healing factor would allow him to survive. Archangel did this to him with his razor sharp wings, and Wolvie was only down for a few moments.

Cyclops eye beams are concussive, not lasers. They can't cut him, but they could blast him back. Even at full blast, he'd simply knock Wolvie back a few hundred yards. If Wolvie got inside, he'd gut Cyclops like a fish.

Rougue could negate his healing factor, but she'd need to touch him. No chance. Wolvie would cut her to ribbons before she got a glove off.

Iceman and Pyro. Nope. As seen in the moviee, Wolvies skin can't be badly burned, and all iceman could do is immobilze him with ice. Not even the sharpest icicle he could generate would pierce his ribcage ar skull to do any real damage.

Storm's lightning would hurt, but couldn't kill him. She could possibly sweep him into the upper atmosphere until he asphyxiated(sp) so maybe storm could do him.

The bottom line with Wolvie is that in hand to hand, he's nearly unmatched due to paramilitary and martial arts background...and thousands of battles with and without the X-Men. The movies have shown him as more of a beginner with his fighting skills surviving on his toughness alone. In the comics, he's an accomplished, berzerk fighter with feral agility. No way would mystique survive a close quarter fight with Wolvie in the comics. If it were a foe too powerful to take on, he'd simply back off and hunt them down later.

right, but that would be cool to see a 5'3'' butt kicker lol. But I guess holly wood disagree, just like Topher playing Venom lol.

Co-sign -- people always talk about how overrated Wolverine really is, but when you really think about it he's one of the baddest mutants there is.

                    Re: X3

The only way to kill Wolverine would be with a well-placed bullet through the eye. And even then Wolverine could possibly recover due to his healing factor (Sabretooth once survived being stabbed through the eye by Wolverine and he possesses the same mutant healing factor as Wolverine) so to finish him off one would probably have to suffocate him. I don't know if electricity can kill him, so it is possible Storm could fry him. Wolverine was killed in The Days of the Future Past storline by a massive Sentinel who's blast stripped away every last bit of flesh from Wolverine's bones leaving nothing behind but his adamantium skeleton. Also, in the Age of Apocalypse universe, Cyclops was able to blast all of the flesh off of Wolverine's left hand leaving behind just an adamantium stump (his claws were later revealed to be still intact). Wolverine would have died at the hands of Magneto if the X-Men didn't save him as the massive trauma of having the adamantium ripped through his pores severely weakened his healing factor.

Wolverine though is one of the most intriguing characters ever created by Marvel. His super powers are some-what believable and incredibly efficient in their simplicity. His backstory is also one of the best. People like him not because he can kick everyone's *** (he can't, he's been bested many times) but because he's fearless and won't back down from a fight. He is only shunned at times because he is overexposed. Stairway to Heaven is one of the most overplayed songs I can think of, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is one of the best rock songs ever written. Just as Wolverine may be everywhere doesn't diminish the fact that he is one of the best comic book characters ever created.

No one really takes advantage of the samurai aspect of Wolverine's past. I always liked hearing about that stuff.

I didn't agree with Jackman as Wolverine at first but he grew on me to the point where it was difficult to imagine anyone else doing a better job. However, initially - In physical terms - I thought Chris Benoit would've been a good choice as crazy as that may sound. Now, obviously he didn't/doesn't have the acting experience nor charisma to handle the role. But those fight scenes would have been off the chain.

Ok, I'll take it. Thanks for breaking it down.

Like I said, I haven't (and probably never will) read the comic. I'm a fan of the movies, but knew there must be something else there that makes this guy such a fan favorite.

Anyway, I bow to the great Wolverine. The badassiest of all the badasses!
