If it's a playlist, I doubt you can convert the entire thing to 1 single mp3. Usually can't convert a single file containing multiple files into a single mp3.
I looked around for what a .pl file is and it appears to be a scripting text file (CGI). If so, you should be able to open it in Notepad to make sure that it is a script and not music.
I think Winamp playlist files are .pls. -

Well, I can get it to play....but not in iTunes, which is what I use. And I am trying to get it onto my iPod.
It only plays on WMP.Comment

a .pl file is normally a perl script, never heard of a .pl music file.Comment

Have you tried opening it in Notepad to see if it isn't just a playlist file that links to other actual music file locations? Most playlist files only contain a file structure and no actual files themself.Comment
