    Visual Basic

Anyone on OS that uses Visual Basic and could consider themselves "experts"?

I need help coding a program. If you have AIM it would be a whole lot easier to help.

    Thanks.

I took some in High School but I would consider myself far from "expert".
There is no place like Nebraska
    Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
    The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
    Where they're all true blue.
    We'll all stick together,
    In all kinds of weather,
    For Dear old Nebraska U!

Won't change this signature until Nebraska wins the National Championship...posted 8/16/05

        Re: Visual Basic

You need to connect to the database and then read the values you want and print them. To connect to the DB you need the right ODBC driver, you should see the server tab on the left of the screen, connect there and if you did it correctly, you should be able to see the DB tables. Search for DB connection on google, you'll find some good help. I wish I still had some of my DB code, but I don't have it and can't remember the exact code.

I took VB my senior year of college way back in 1998 & 1999. p_rushing has it correct, if I remember right. I'd help you (still have some of my old projects on disk) but I don't have VB 6.0 on my PC anymore to look at the code.

                            Re: Visual Basic

its due on Monday and i havent started it at all.

                            The software requirements document is...

You are making a program that a receptionist at a dentist's office is to use. This is a database driven program using Microsoft Access. You need to be able to enter in patients info (id number, first name, last name, address, city, state, zip, whether or not tehy have insurance or not, insurance company, insurance policy number) and update it to the database. Then we need to be able to print out bills for a patient. There are 5 dental procedures and you need to keep track of which were performed on each patient (if you use a 2 table set up u get extra credit). Finally you should be able to check everyones records. I think thats about it.

Anyone up to the task of helping me out? I mean I do know somewhat what I am going to do but Im gonna have some
questions here and there, I cant take my textbook home with me.

P.S.- You can use arrays but i find them hard to work with.
