I was dissapointed to see the running time for the film is only an hour and 44 minutes, thats about a half hour less than what was present for X-Men 2.

In case you didn't notice, IGN posted their review of X3 yesterday. I didn't read it for fear of having some things spoiled for me but I did skip to the end to get the final verdict and it's mostly in-line with what I expected from the film:

X-Men: The Last Stand does not suck. It won't be revered like Batman Begins or X2, but it's got plenty of action to satisfy fans. It's impossible to deny that this film, with either a better script or a different director, could have had a much greater depth. It needed an extra 20 minutes of story, but what is here is entertaining. Go see the film, then look for Bryan Singer's take on what he would have done with X3 when he pens Ultimate X-Men either later this year or early 2007.

Is that last bit about Ultimate X-Men just speculation or has it been confirmed that an Ultimate X-Men film is in the works? While I like some of Ultimate X-Men it seems far too soon to re-launch the franchise from scratch.

I was expecting Apocalypse to be the main villain in at least one of the x-men movie. Guess not.

There is going to be at least a fourth X-Men movie, maybe more, plus the Wolverine movie. The reason that X3 is The Last Stand is because it concludes the ongoing trilogy. From that, I would assume that X4 will be taking a different direction.

I only read X-men comics for about a one-year span during around 7th grade for me, which was like 14-15 years ago. Anyway, has the movies' main storyline of Mutant registration been a big storyline in the comics as well?

my thought is Apocalypse, when i hear the cure it reminds me of the virus that Apocalypse was spreading in the cartoons acting like if he was human anyone think that he could do something similar in the movie.

In the past it was, but now its being resurrected for the Civil War story arch.

Apocalypse would have to altered for the movie as in his comic state he's a bit too hokey for the average movie-goer to buy into, if done right he could work. I think they should try to stick to civil rights issues such as a registration act plot or the legacy virus. I'd think a good villain for a future film would be someone like X-Cutioner. And for a Wolverine film, The Hand (with Silver Samurai), Weapon X or Omega Red would be fitting.
