    Being John Malkovich

Anybody ever seen this movie? We're watching it in English (about a little over an hour into it now), and I have to pretty much claim it one of the weirdest yet at the same time rather funnier movies that I have seen in a while. Never before have I seen either Cameron Diaz nor (is that John Cusack?) be completely different from any other character I have seen them play.

Who in the hell was the writer of this movie? It's so very different from any other movie that I have seen, and is quite... well, I seem to like it so far. Did anybody else like this movie?

    Charlie Kaufman

Watch Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind too.

Wrote by Charlie Kaufman. He also wrote Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine. Directed by Spike Jonze. Did the Beastie Boys stuff, and Adaptation with Kaufman. I think they have done a few things together...

        Ahh, sounds good.

Anybody see this one, though? Awfully strange. Not only the plot (which is being inside John Malkovich for 15 minutes, then being dumped on the side of a New Jersey turnpike), but the characters... hot damn they're weird!

Anyway, just wondering what other people thought of this movie. We'll probably finish it by tomorrow in class.

Saw the review on EBERT @ ROEPER a few years ago. Got 2 thumbs UP^ but it just wasn't my cup of tea, so I never saw it.

I didn't care too much for Being John Malkovich. I prefer the other movies mentioned above much better.

I really like Kaufman's stories, and Being John Malkovich is a great one. He just has such a strange, unconventional way to tell a story that no matter what the subject is at least the movie turns out interesting (IE Human Nature)
