Close minded because apparently someone has to share your political views in order for you to support them. Hell, I am not a Republican (obviously), but I'll still see an Arnie movie (if he ever makes anymore). Someone doesn't have to share my views for me to be a fan. Unfortunately for many people, that is not the case.

And I am not leaving anytime soon because I am doing my part working for the most liberal paper in Southwestern VA. Besides, it is the people, not the area, that bother me the most.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably my fault. I'll be the first to signal truce. My original point, which was probably lost, was that I don't understand why someone has to have your views in order to appreciate what they do (be it music, movies, etc)? Country music, for the most part, is not a very political music (I said for the most part, Toby Keith). I just don't understand how many of their original fans can turn on them just because of something that was said about our President. It doesn' make sense to me. People say **** all the time, doesn't keep me from buying their tickets or CD's. Hell, I even went to see MI:3, despite Tom Cruise being a nutball.

Musicians should be judged on their music. If they were a bunch of child molestors or something then I could see not wanting to support them but politics and religous beliefs shouldn't matter.

With that said, I still don't like the Dixie Chicks.

That's all good and God bless. But, since when is Oklahoma City,Indianapolis and Fresno California considered South? Are you chosing to bash the South just because it's considered cool among your peers? I am a transplanted Yankee from Detroit and I love it down here. The people are great IMO.

According to Pollstar, dates in Memphis, Tennessee, Oklahoma City, Indianapolis, and Fresno, California, have been dropped from the tour schedule for now, while box-office sales also were canceled for Houston.

Back on topic. I don't care for "The Dixie Chicks" or any other performer that tries to sell their music through the media via "Playing Politics". Just think, with a name like "The Dixie Chicks" do you really think they would have sold as many CD's on the East and West coast if they didn't bash The President? You know damn well that if the script was flipped they would have been labeled as the Bush loving "Redneck Chicks" no pun intended. Best bet. Entertain and keep your politics out of it,otherwise run for office just like Arnie.

As far as Toby Keith goes. I have only heard him support the troops in this war. He also went to Iraq in that effort as well. His donations to "Wounded Warrior Project" have been more than ample.
