My personal hope is the hydrogen fueled cars catch on, those seem alot more legit as they are more like gas burners but just use hydrogen instead. And the only exhaust they have is some small amount of very pure water that comes out of the exhaust pipe.Last edited by ODogg; 06-06-2006, 09:54 PM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Originally posted by ODoggI'll probably have to check that movie out but I don't need to see the movie to know what killed the electric car, people like to be able to have legitimately powerful vehicles who can travel more than 25 miles without having to stop and don't have interiors the size of a shoe closet. So yeah, no big mystery there. I'm sure the conspiracy nuts out there though will love this movie.

If I had an electric car I'd have to stop 7, maybe 8 times and driving through the mountains of West Virginia i'm not sure I don't even go 60 miles without a gas station. Stopping that much would add probably another hour, hour and half to an already long (7 hours) trip.
It was this flaw that was quite fatal to the electric car, not some big conspiracy by the oil companies (although I'm sure they were glad to see it fail so miserably) or powers-that-be.
Also, with a need to recharge electrically where do you do that at? Most gas stations aren't going to have the facilities or method to allow you to do that and bill you accordingly. I know alot those cars also ran on gas but if you can only really recharge at home or sporadic specially setup electric recharging stations then most of the time when you're on trips you'd have to just use gas and that kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Not all of us live in California (thank God!) you know where those electric recharge stations were established and setup at various locations.Last edited by ODogg; 06-06-2006, 10:24 PM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
