File and Desktop Icon removal ???

Ok a couple of years ago, someone told me about a program that will let you remove programs and desktop icons that usually cant be removed. In that I mean when I go to delete it but it says it is being used by another person or program. If any of you PC gurus could help me out I will be greatly appreciative. Or if you know of any other means to get rid of them. My wife downloaded some stupid cruise ship tycoon game and cake mania for my daughter and I cant get them off.

The problem is that these programs, files are running in the background. Boot to safe mode by pressing the F8 key during booting. After you are in safe mode you should be able to get rid of the fies/icons by just simpliy dragging them to the recyle bin or pressing delete.

If you are still not able to, time for the end process approach. Press ctr, alt, del, go to processes and click on the program that resembles cakemainia.exe or the typhoon game, .exe also, and click end process and than you should be able to delete them.

If you are still having problems, take a look a regsupreme. This program is a registry cleaner but also removes hidden files, registry keys, add/remove programs, etc. and are stubborn to remove, or will just no go no problem. I think they give you a one week free trial of the Pro version.

I used TweakUI along with objectdock to clean up my desktop. Looks 10x better without any icons.
