    computer help

Alright so the problem has to deal with IE...I lost the FLASH PLAYER. I tried everything the macromedia site has told me to do to try and get it back

I rebooted after installing, I tried repairing my browser, I even upgraded to the new IE but, still nothing.

It says the Macromedia Flash Player is installed but, yet when i go to a site that has flash on the site it says "Flash Plugin required"

What can be done to get it back? Its only on IE.

    Thanks

A guy I work with had this happen to him on his office machine this past week; he's in the IT department. In the end, the only thing he could figure out to do was to go back to a restore point a couple of weeks back, after that it worked.

Restore Point is probably the way to go. You could also start using Firefox. I think Firefox is faster and blocks pop-ups better then IE.

Just uninstall IE. Its a lot of work, but it seems to me that you've been attacked by viruses and spyware. Hence the reason why Flash isn't showing up.

        Either

        A. Do a fresh install of IE as well as the other componenets (Flash, Adobe, etc)

        or

        B. Be smart and just download Firefox. Its 100x better and more secure than IE.

I had this same issue but in Firefox browser. I uninstalled Flash and then reinstalled it and it fixed it. Then it happened again about 2 weeks later so I did it again, it's been fine since. And yes I check my computer for spyware, viruses and all that jazz.

            Re: computer help

Well sadly I was attacked by a virus, because of something a buddy had and he connected it to my computer not knowing it had a virus. I got rid of the virus, but that took off our darn restore point for some reason or else I would gladly go back in time and have everything fixed.

How would I do a fresh install and uninstall of IE, because I have been trying to uninstall the original version of IE. Because I think if I can just flat out uninstall IE, I can get Flash Player to work. I would just use Mozilla, which most of the time I do only use that however when I go to mtv.com and view videos I can't view them in Mozilla, so I switch over to IE to watch...so that's why I keep using IE.

When I download flash player it says it's installed, but yet it doesn't show up in IE...Mozilla is fine, but IE is not.
