Been testing it at work for a little while now (MSDN partner).

I do like it, but what I'm really interested in is the "improved security". Time will tell on that part.

usually i wouldnt say this, but since i got my macbook...go osx and the new OS thats coming out for mac...the most stable thing i've ever come across. and if your motive is not to be gaming, then i'd recommend it

How do you install vista? I can't seem to get it installed..do I need to burn it onto a DVD or something?

Gotta be on external media as you are overwriting the OS.

Just beware that some software applications will not work on Vista at this time. Not to mention that drivers aren't going to be available.

I have been beta-testing this OS for a while, and with it having gone public I've finally had the "nuts" to put it on my home PC. If they feel it's safe to release to the general public, then it's safe enough to try.

I like it... but there isn't much that you really can't do with XP right now and a bunch of their add-ons. The sidebar is nothing but a rip off of Mac OSX widgets...

Either way, the footprint this OS needs isn't really worth an upgrade.

While my impression is better with this release, I still say the upgrade isn't worth it.

If they feel it's safe to release to the general public, then it's safe enough to try.

It's still a pre-release so my understanding is that any damage that occurs, is on the user. If it has a serious security hole or bug, it's the user's problem and it likely won't be patched until release versions. I'd load it onto a test machine, but not on any of my main home systems.
