Computer Network Question, Re: Sonic Wall

This is an area I know nothing about, but recent developments in my life have lead to this question. At work I need to sign in to Sonic Wall to go onto the internet and will check my email. Does anyone know if this program stores my private email (not my work email mind you, my private accounts with MSN and Comcast) in a way that my employer could view the correspondence in the email?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sonicwall is a firewall device. You mean you have to start a VPN or something to be able to get internet and your email?

Is there a program that would allow my employer to access the correspondence of private emails, such as Yahoo or Gmail?

Not that I know of. They can use keystroke monitoring programs however.

Thanks a lot. Does anyone in the tech industry know if it is even legal to monitor my private email accounts, even if accessed at work?

Massnole, I would think that it's legal for them to monitor whatever they'd like considering you're using their equipment and bandwidth to check your email. I've heard of husbands and wives installing keystroke monitoring software, but never a business. That's pretty scary actually.

Thanks. It is pretty scary, but I won't go into many more details.

I don't think they can monitor your private email, but your work email is another story.
